Samurai and ninja flourished during the Warring States period, and many successful anime based their stories on this turbulent time period in Japanese history.
The Sengoku period, or "Warring States" period, was an era in Japanese history of near constant civil war. Major figures from this era include Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Tokugawa Ieyasu, and Oda Nobunaga, among others. The three are considered the "Three Great Unifiers" of Japan to restore Japan's centralized government.
The above have appeared and been mentioned in many different anime. For example, Oda Nobunaga is one of the main characters in anime. Drifters. Many anime series, movies, and video games use the Warring States period as a backdrop for their drama, whether they focus on ruling warlords or ordinary people caught up in their conflicts.

Warring States Japan is a place torn by war, famine, and disease, littered with dead soldiers, murdered civilians, and burned villages. Osamu Tezuka decided to cast 48 demons. The story follows Hyakkimaru and his traveling companion Dororo as they travel through feudal Japan in search of the demons who stole his body parts from him. While the original manga and anime Dororo have many anachronisms, the 2019 adaptation changes tone by removing them and keeping its Warring States setting as seriously low fantasy.

It's time for tea, war and politics. Hyoge Mono is a 39-episode seinen period drama about warlord Furuta Sasuke. He develops a fascination with the art of the tea ceremony that conflicts with his desire for a promotion. Most of the political shenanigans and deals in this anime take place over cups of tea.
The characters' sense of aesthetic and ceremony subtly reflects their philosophy and influences their role in political machinations. Although Hyoge Mono is a drama, it is not devoid of its comedy. The series tends to be quite surreal with his facial expressions, making the viewer laugh during serious scenes.

As thanks for saving her life, she pledges allegiance to him and vows to help him conquer and unite the warring states of Japan.
True to its yonkoma roots, the anime is a fast-paced comedy that sets up its gags and punchlines with incredible speed, sometimes requiring a second viewing of its three-minute episodes. While the series primarily focuses on its comedy, it maintains a level of educational value while staying true to proven facts where it counts.

Sword of the Stranger) is an action-adventure film set during the Warring States period. The film is about a young boy, Kotaro and his dog, who are being chased by soldiers from the Chinese Ming Dynasty. Kotaro accidentally runs into a rogue ronin named Nanashi and hires him as a bodyguard.
Nanashi and Kotaro form a classic duo and children and face many dangers to find a safe haven from the Chinese warriors and their deadly leader. Unknown to the trio, Kotaro is pursued due to his role in the prophecy.

Twenty-first century high school student Saburo regretted those words when he traveled back in time to the Warring States era in Nobunaga concert. Faced with a fleeing nobleman with oddly similar looks to him, he takes the nobleman's place among his servants.
It turns out the noble was Oda Nobunaga, and now Saburo must recreate history without having a clue how things should go. In spite of this, Concert Nobunaga renowned for its historical accuracy, even with its time travel twist.

Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings
Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings is an anime series adapted from the video game franchise of the same name. The anime and game are very loosely based on the events of the Warring States period. The franchise follows an alternate history where protagonists Date Masamune and Sanada Yukimura form an alliance with other warlords to defeat Oda Nobunaga.
However, within two seasons and the film Sengoku Basara, Nobunaga is not the only prominent figure created as an antagonist. The series was picked up by Funimation and received a dub with an all-star cast.
3. Cute girls doing cute things like conquering Japan!
Oda Nobuna's Ambition
This is the Warring States period, but most of the main figures are pretty girls. "Oda Nobuna's Ambition" tells the story of high school student Yoshiharu Sagara who is transported to an alternate history version of the Warring States period.
After rescuing Toyotomi Hideyoshi at the cost of the general's life, Yoshiharu takes his place as a servant of Oda Nobuna (Oda Nobunaga's female counterpart). His goal is for Nobunaga to be able to unify Japan and find a way back to his own time. It is never explained how Yoshiharu ended up on time travel during the Warring States period.

"Asura" is a darkly dramatic anime film that can only be recommended to a mature audience. In 1460, Japan is plunged into famine and many common people are in dire straits. Many, driven by hunger, resort to cannibalism. It is in this situation that the main character, Asura, is born.
Miraculously surviving her infancy, Asura turns to eating human flesh to stay alive as the famine continues. While there are great displays of human kindness and determination in the film, it is nonetheless heartbreaking and sad to watch.
1. Two sides in war and destruction between them
Princess Mononoke
"Princess Mononoke" is a widely acclaimed film produced by Studio Ghibli and written by Hiyao Miyazaki. Action Princess Mononoke technically takes place during the Muromachi era (1336 to 1573), but it overlaps heavily with the Warring States period (1467-1590). The film is primarily about the conflict between the industrialization of mankind and the spirits of nature, who are threatened by the encroachment of mankind on their territory.
Despite this, it is clear in the film that humanity is by no means united. The characters come into conflict with enemy armies, which only adds to the main conflict of the film. Princess Mononoke's Anti-War Message shows that all parties are damaged by each other's ignorance and greed.
