The Walking Dead may be about to end at season 11, prompting a new spin-off with Daryl Dixon.
The popular show is hitting huge ratings in season 10, even without its lead character Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, who pulled out of season 9.
Since then, the likes of Daryl, Michonne and others have been left to lead the pack in their fight against the zombies.
Now, the season 10 finale hasn't even been shown yet, scheduled to air on October 4th, and the huge leak that has now been confirmed has revealed that TWD will end in season 11.
Season 11 of The Walking Dead will be its last
September 9 gaming website IGN posted an image - which was removed very quickly - hinting at the show's demise.
Some time later, a new tweet from IGN confirmed that season 11 of the show would be its last, and that a spin-off series centered on Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier will premiere in 2023.

Daryl Dixon spinoff series coming up
Show co-creator Angela Kahn has made it clear that the new series will likely be similar to the TWD play in many ways, confirming that she and executive producer Scott Gimple will continue the story. "The flagship series The Walking Dead has been my creative home for ten years and so it's bittersweet to see it through," she said, "but I'm very excited to be working with Scott Gimple and AMC to develop a new series. for Daryl and Carol."
When Rick Grimes left the rest of the survivors to fend for themselves, fans expected a heroic return. We may still get it, but the big picture for the franchise's premier TV show seems to be in jeopardy.
Of course, there is no new information about what will be in the additional series yet, but it is worth remembering that the Rick Grimes film is also in development, so the Walking Dead universe is still very far from its decline.
