14 Days of Fortnite 2020: Everything We Know So Far
The 14 Days of Fortnite celebration is one of the most anticipated in-game events in Battle Royale, so here's everything we know about it.
As Season 4 draws to a close, Season 5 is getting closer to being the first in Chapter 2 to be themed after the winter era. And since Christmas events have historically started in the second half of December, Epic Games has plenty of time to integrate this much-touted event.
In 2019, instead of 14 days of Fortnite, Epic decided to go for Winter Festival, which was essentially the same concept under a different name.
It could happen this year as well. While the name may be different, the 14 days of Fortnite will mark the festivities of the Battle Royale for players.
When does the 14 days of Fortnite 2020 start?
In 2019, Winterfest ran from December 18th to January 6th, giving players around 3 weeks to complete all of this season's challenges.
Prior to this, the original 2018 Christmas event took place from December 20 to January 2. Following this trend, we can expect this year's event to take place from the third week of December and pass roughly a week after the new year.
This will move the event to 2020 around the same time, somewhere between December 17 to January 8, although we'll see if Epic includes it.
Fortnite Holiday Event
Of course, the biggest reason to participate in the Fortnite Celebration event is all the challenges, for which players are instantly rewarded with all sorts of gifts. While we still don't have any information on what they might be, there are indications that Epic may already be planning some additions to the snow-themed game.
Insider 'HypeX' previously uncovered a connection to the Snowman who "gives you a quest". HypeX said that NPCs can talk, explode, and create loot.
This may be part of the elaborate holiday scheme that Epic is developing. The inclusion of the snowman could also herald that the ice sheet will again cover the island of Fortnite.
Here are some things that @intercelluar & i found until leaking is back to normal:

- Epic are working on a Slurp Bazooka
- There's an unreleased "Fire Extinguisher" item
- We might get a "Snowman NPC" that grants you a quest,
it has conversations, can explode and/or spawn loot
VastBlast, the Fortnite dataminer, also revealed that a new Christmas line has been added that says "It's that time of year again! Time to decorate the trees, sing holiday songs, and... handle hostage situations? »
New christmas-related string added:

"It's that time of year again! Time to decorate trees, sing holiday songs, and... resolve hostage situations?"
We already know what the developers are planning complete the Nexus 4 war "the biggest event they've ever done and it will change the future of Fortnite."
This doomsday scenario could lead to a nuclear winter of sorts, giving the game the perfect transition to kick off the holiday season.
We'll have to wait and see if Epic restarts their 14 days of Fortnite; they're sure to reveal more about the holiday event the closer we get to Season 5.
