Valorant Neon 18th Agent: Abilities, release date

The wait is over and we've been officially introduced to 18 Valorant agents and her name is Neon. After months of data searching and leaks, the first solid details about the Filipino character have surfaced, including her powers, feats, and release date.

Now that Chamber is firmly established himself in the list of Valorant agents, all eyes are on the game's next addition.

Quite a lot has been revealed about Agent 18, codenamed "Sprinter", ahead of its Valorant release in Episode 4 in 2022. However, now that her character trailer confirms Neon, we have all the details, including what her abilities look like, her lore, release date, and more.

Who is Neon in Valorant?

Neon is an agent codenamed "Sprinter" that has been floating around in the Valorant game files for months. First discovered in the game's files in July, early information was eventually overshadowed by Chamber's release.

However, Riot has been feeding players information about a Filipino agent since early December 2021. Neon's first official teaser hit the Valorant Champions promo video with the voice line, "I'll show them if I want to. Enemies in our way? I hope they enjoy being struck by lightning."

This was further hinted at in a State of the Agents post on December 23, where character producer John Gosicki described her as "an agent who can surprise opponents by rushing straight into battle."

Her name and art were revealed ahead of time thanks to a leak on the Prime Gaming website on December 31st, two weeks before her expected release. On January 5, Valorant released a trailer for their full character.

Neon abilities

We don't have full details on Neon's abilities yet, but the trailer gives us a first look at them in action.

First, we see that she has the ability to both sprint and slide, which will no doubt make her a favorite among players who love fast moves.

We can also see her doing two hurdles side by side, providing coverage in a straight line on both sides. She then fires what appears to be an electrical beam from her fingertips.

Neon release date in Valorant

Neon is expected to release as part of Valorant Episode 4 Act 1, with a mega update coming 12th of January 2022

However, with Yoru's rework currently ongoing, Agent 18 may be delayed after Act 4 Episode 1.
