5 Things We Know About Fortnite Season 11 Chapter 2

A leak "Fortnite Chapter 2caused a lot of excitement and questions ahead of its scheduled release, so let's take a look at some of the final things we've learned from the massive leak.

The Fortnite community was buzzing with anticipation after a potential skin for the upcoming season hit the Italian version of the iOS App Store on October 11th.

The image included a miniature of the three characters walking out into never-before-seen terrain, with Fortnite written across the top and then "Chapter 2."

After seeing this, most fans are convinced that a brand new map will be coming to Fortnite, but a closer look at the image reveals a few more clues about what's to come in the next season of the popular Battle Royale title.

With that in mind, here is a list of the five things we learned about Chapter 2:

Finally a new map!

Assuming this leak reflects reality, then there is probably no doubt that the new map is indeed finally coming to Fortnite.

This is arguably the biggest change Epic Games could have made given that the same map was used for the first ten seasons of the Game, albeit with major changes made along the way.

Now a whole new world will open up for players to explore new locations, discover hidden areas and find out what's what and where.

It will also turn the competitive scene on its head, as players will now have to determine which areas of the map are best to land on, and where and when to look for the best opportunities to explore.

Season 11 will be titled "Chapter 2"

While the new map is what got the most attention when it comes to this leak, the decision to call the next season "Chapter 2" raised a lot more questions.

Could this mean that Epic is changing the seasonal structure, or maybe season numbers will start as new chapters now?

There's a chance that the term Season 11, which has been mentioned countless times for some time, may not be used!

Boats will be the new means of transport

It looks like Chapter 2 might not be for those who get seasick because it looks like the new map will feature boats, which has never been seen before in Fortnite.

The leaked image clearly shows not one, but two boats moving down the river in front of the characters, which is likely a strong indication that players will be able to use them to get around the map.

It also hints that the new map will have a lot of water running through all locations, which is interesting because lakes and rivers never played any major role on the current map.

This will be welcome news for most players who have been complaining all season 10 about the lack of mobility options on the map after the removal of many vehicles, Slipstreams, Geysers and Hang Gliders (only Team Rumble remained).

There will be at least one lighthouse on the map

Zooming in on the left side of the leak image, the Lighthouse is clearly visible behind the fog and clouds that cover the new map.

It's interesting because if Epic bothered to add it to the image, then it would most likely be one of the new POIs.

Also, as some have pointed out on social media, the presence of the lighthouse could mean that there are actual beaches on the edge of the map that players can access.

The only beaches on the current map are in Lazy Lagoon, as the waters surrounding the island inflict instant death on players who jump into them.

The new map may have one biome... for now

That's a bit dubious given that the resolution of the leaked map teaser isn't all that great. However, nothing in the teaser indicates that the new map will feature any biomes, at least not when Chapter 2 is first launched.

Biomes were first added to the current map back in Season 5 when the southeast corner was turned into a giant desert.

In season 7, a massive iceberg collided with the southwest corner, adding a lot more terrain to the map as well as turning the entire area into a snow biome.

While you can never be too sure, if Epic had planned to add something that looked like a new map right from the start, they would have probably at least hinted at it in the teaser.

At the time of writing, that's all the information we've been able to glean from a leaked image of the upcoming Fortnite Chapter 2 season. Perhaps you have a sharper eye and we missed something. If so, share your guesses in the comments below! It's also interesting to know what you think and expect from Season 11. Don't be shy, we look forward to hearing from you!
