Age of Empires 4 - English Civilization Guide
Everything you need to know about the English civilization most beginner-friendly in Age of Empires 4
The English are one of the simpler civilizations in Age of Empires IV, as Relic previously stated that they were designed to closely match the design of civilizations in past Age of Empires games. This means that they must be one of the more familiar civilizations to players from past games, and they do have a three-star rating on the in-game difficulty tracker.
The English as a culture arose from a mixture of Anglo-Saxon and Norman heritage, and in the game they specialize in agriculture and protection. Their unique unit is the Long Archer, but they also gain access to the heavy infantry of the Battle Force Vanguard in the Dark Age, which gives them a powerful advantage over other civilizations at the start of the game.
Their leveling process is simple, their variants in each era are essentially stronger versions of strongholds or city centers, with one or two niche picks across the range. Let's take a look at their special abilities, as well as general tips and tricks on how they play as a faction.
