Albedo or Eola, who is better? Reruns in Genshin Impact 2.3

Albedo or Eola in Genshin Impact 2.3 - that is the question!

We offer you some things that you should consider before praying to the banner of Albedo or Aeola. I will be discussing both the character banners available in the newest update and the weapon banners. For those who have already received Albedo or Eola, I will look at the constellations and their benefits for each character.

New banner system

First, the new banner system in 2.3 allows players to roll Albedo's and Eola's banners at the same time. Pity for these two banners is common, but they will be two separate banners. You can choose whether you're pulling Aeola or Albedo and 50/50 still applies. For example, if you currently have 0 pity and would like to spin Albedo for 40 spins, you can do so on his banner. Subsequently, if you change your mind and want to choose Eola, you will be guaranteed Eola or standard banner characters at 5★ for the next 50 attempts. You don't have to worry about getting Eola if you want Albedo, or vice versa.

Albedo

Albedo is a strong sub-DPS character that can deal consistent damage with his elemental mastery and limb. Considering the push from MiHoYo to the entire Geo team after Goru's release due to his form, Albedo now has more potential than ever before. It can be used with Zhong Li to deal with a lot of Geo DMG with Zhong Li Geo Constructs when Abiogenesis: Albedo Sun Flower is placed on the field. In addition, Albedo's passive, which increases the Elemental Mastery of nearby party members by 125. for 10 seconds, shows his potential on a more elemental team (Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, etc.).

When it comes to its constellations, constellation 1 is pretty lame, while constellation 2 seems to be the strongest. For low cost folks, I feel like getting Albedo's constellation isn't needed at all for his kit and he deals decent and consistent damage with his skills and ult, especially considering his low cooldown for his skills and low energy cost for max 40.

Overall, Albedo is a great sub-DPS suitable for many team builds that can take all of your DEF% rolled artifacts.

Eola

As someone who got Eola in her previous banner, I would recommend her if you like the less clunky two-handed sword fighting style and physical DPS characters. Despite being limited by the fact that she relies heavily on physical damage, Eola more than makes up for it with its incredible numbers. Due to the fact that she has a low rate of elemental particle generation, if possible, try to compensate for this by restoring energy using the secondary characteristics of artifacts.

Eola can take out high-level enemies in the Abyss, although there have been complaints about how her DMG explosion occurs long after the enemies are dead. To combat this, I would recommend timing the explosion before the enemies are at very low health. Also, physical DMG still loses to elemental DMG in general in the Abyss, as elemental reactions can greatly increase the amount of damage.

Surf illusion Aeols is a big plus as it increases physical DMG by 30% after final and C2 reduces the cooldown of the hold version of the elemental skill. However, the rest of her constellations aren't stunning and don't justify the expense spent on getting them. None of her constellations are game changers, so I wouldn't recommend pulling her banner if you already have Eola.

All in all, Eola is an investment you should get if you like physical DPS playstyles and her kit.

Weapon banner

Oaths of freedom

The Pledge of Freedom sword is Kazuha's best playable weapon due to its elemental mastery substat. However, it can also be used on a sub-DPS character to deal more damage to elemental reactions such as Xing Qiu when used with Hu Tao to generate permanent vapor reactions.

This is not Albedo's best weapon until the newest update. The new sword Cinnabar Spindle with the DEF substat will be released in Update 2.3 in its event. It can be obtained by completing the event "White dust and snow shadow».

Song of Broken Pines

Song of Broken Pine Trees has a Physical Damage substat and increases Attack Power by 16% and when hit by a normal or charged attack, gives the character a Seal of Whispers. This effect can occur every 0.3 sec.

After receiving the 4th Seal of the Whisper, they are all spent and all nearby party members gain Millennium Symphony: Banner Hymn for 12 seconds. Millennium Symphony: Hymn of the Banner increases normal attack speed by 12% and the strength of the attack on 20%.

If you already have Eola, getting the Broken Pine Song weapon will be the best option to improve her damage. However, please note that Eola can also use other weapons such as Snowy Starry Silver (Crafted) or Prototype: Archaic (Crafted), and Eola is still a strong physical DPS without her signature weapon. Since this weapon is rather adapted specifically for her, it would only be good on her or Razor.

Conclusion

It's hard to choose between the meta and characters you like to play, especially if you're an F2P player with a limited amount of sourcestones. Song of Broken Pine Trees is a great weapon if you already have Eola, and Oaths of Freedom seems promising for a lot of characters. Ultimately, it is your choice to decide which characters, constellations, or weapons you would like to have.
