AMD Ryzen is Much More Popular than Intel Processors
Intel still rules the CPU market, but AMD is beginning to take its heels. The new Ryzen 5000 has made "red" processors much more popular than "blue" competitors in some stores.
Fresh statistics on the sales of processors from the largest German store Mindfactory have appeared on the Web. For some time there were no such data, so it is possible to estimate the changes in recent months.
So, AMD continues to lead, although its position has declined somewhat. As you can see in the charts, the company's share is now 76%, which is the lowest figure in more than a year.
The undisputed leader is the Ryzen 5 5600X processor. Actually, this was expected, since the previous leaders were Ryzen 5 3600X/2600X/1600X. Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 9 5900X follow.
Intel's best processor was the Core i7-11700K, which took sixth place, but its sales are more than seven times lower than the Ryzen 5 5600X and only slightly more than the expensive 16-core Ryzen 9 5950X.
The average selling price of a processor from AMD was 327 euros, having increased one and a half times over the year. At Intel, the figure was 239 euros, having decreased by 23%.
Yes, the average selling price of an AMD processor is now higher than an Intel processor, which is another major change in the market, indicating that users are ready to buy even very expensive Ryzen CPUs. By the way, according to this indicator, AMD overtook Intel back in November.
