Apex Legends Season 3: All Buffs and Nerfs for Weapons and Legends
The launch of Apex Legends Season 3: Melting Ice has, as expected, brought some adjustments and tweaks to both weapons and legends in the popular Battle Royale title.
Season 3 of Apex Legends has finally launched, which means the game now has new legend, weapon, map and battle pass.
However, in addition to the massive flurry of new content, developers Respawn Entertainment have also implemented both buffs and nerfs to certain weapons and characters, making them stronger in some ways and also weaker in others.
You can find all the details about these changes below, including explanations from the developers themselves giving an idea of why they decided to apply these specific adjustments.
Weapon Changes
“For Season 3 weapon changes, our goals were to encourage and improve longer range firefights and reduce power on some of the weapons that have been dominating lately. We will of course be closely monitoring the data and player feedback on them throughout the season.”
In terms of weapons, a mix of both buffs and nerfs were implemented, though more of the changes seemed to be aimed at reducing the effectiveness of some guns.
R99, Longbow DMR (Longbow) and PDW Prowler have all received nerfs, the G7 Scout has received only buffs, while Hemlok, Mozambique and L-STAR have had both additions and nerfs.

Hop-up changes
Hop-ups are an integral aspect of weapons in Apex Legends as they allow players to increase the power of certain weapons by using special weapon attachments.

This means that performing a finishing execution move on a downed enemy will now grant the player a full shield recharge even if they are not wearing gold armor.
