While Pathfinder is passive, he has two strong mobility options in the rest of his kit. His grappling hook ability gives him the ability to pull himself out of danger, or gain momentum and cross a long distance very quickly. His dominance is a great tool for getting through hard-to-reach places, helping his team to establish themselves on the ground and dominate the high ground.

PATFINDER HISTORY

Ideal Scout

Pathfinder is a model of optimism, no matter the circumstances. MRVN (Mobile Robotic All-Purpose Partner) configured for reconnaissance and surveying the area. It turned on several decades ago in an abandoned laboratory, having no idea who created it and why. Knowing nothing but his MRI classification, Pathfinder went in search of his creator.

Since then, Pathfinder has learned a lot in his travels (such as how to make a crappy leviathan stew the Oriental way), but has never come close to finding the creator. However, he still does not give up hope. At the Apex Games, he expects to find supporters... and eventually attract the attention of his creator. He remains enthusiastic, always ready to help and make new friends (and then shoot them).

PATHFINDER ABILITIES

TACTICAL SKILL

Allows you to quickly reach hard-to-reach places.

It's important to note that this grappling hook doesn't just guide you where you point it. It gives momentum if you release the hook while moving.

PASSIVE SKILL

Infiltration

Scans landmark beacons to find out the next location of the ring.

Unfortunately, this is probably one of the weakest passives in the game. Although it’s good to know where the next ring will be, it doesn’t hurt at all. It is possible to plan the movement on the map to the next zone, having previously notified the team members.

SPECIAL SKILL

Rosomet

Launches a cable that can be used by any player.

Pretty useful skill. You can place a tether that can be used by you and your teammates to reach higher and more difficult areas. This can also be used to quickly move around the map and help your team get out of tight situations.

The placed tether remains in place until the end of the match. The ability recharges relatively quickly, so don't save it for emergencies only.

TIPS FOR PLAYING PATHFINDER

While you can have the Widowmaker ability from Overwatch, it shouldn't be used in the same way. Instead of directly pulling in the direction of the hook, you can use the point of contact as a pivot point by swinging and gaining momentum. You can then disengage from the hook to use that momentum to get ahead.
The pathfinder can take the position of an effective sniper in the team. You can latch on to high areas and use this advantage to shoot enemies easily. Once you're in trouble, you can get out of danger by escaping with a grappling hook.
Believe it or not, you can land near an enemy and pull them towards you! This is effective when using a shotgun!
If you're in a high zone or think you'll be heading in a certain direction, it might be a good idea to install the cable before you need it. It will stay there for the entire match, so you don't have to worry about it disappearing. This frees you from unnecessary movements when you are in a panic during a fight.
The rope can be moved in any direction. They can send you up or down, don't worry about them tilting mostly in one direction.
You can fire your weapon while on the zipline, use this advantage!
