Apex Legends Talks about the Future of Crossplatform
Since the incredible release of Apex Legends on February 4th, the community has been asking for the integration of cross-platform play into an exciting battle royale.
While developers Respawn Entertainment have been unhappy with the upcoming elements they plan to introduce to their game, one developer has proposed an update to a highly requested feature. Apex Legends Project Lead Drew McCoy answered some of the gaming community's most burning questions, including the status of crossplay across consoles.
Apex Legends Cross Platform
While McCoy admitted that he could not comment on the specifics of "future features or content," he relieved some players by saying that the company is aware of the growing demand for cross-play. “Cross-play is something we really care about and face,” McCoy said. "We know that people have friends on a wide variety of platforms and that you really want to go into the arena and get some wins together, so stay tuned."
Some fans will be disappointed with the answer, but hearing an Apex developer speak on this subject in whatever capacity will be hopeful for many fans.
The best character in Apex Legends?
McCoy initially approached this fan question with the typical "there's no such thing as the best" saying, but added about his personal favorite. “Honestly, Lifeline is my favorite and best character,” McCoy said. "She has what I consider to be the most powerful ability because I love prey." Lifeline has easily made it to the top of numerous tier lists with their Mining package. Her ability can drop a high level of loot in any part of a match and provide additional bonuses with some clever tricks.
The Bloodhound bird has a name!
The interview was a mine of newly confirmed information, such as the name revealed for the Bloodhound's faithful avian companion. Previously, the only thing Apex fans knew was the origin of the Bloodhound, but now we know that the bird that was usually seen with him has a name.
“You will be the first in the world to know about it,” McCoy added. "I was informed that the Bloodhound bird has its own name, Arthur."
Developer Respawn has revealed a lot of cool stuff about the game, making the video above a must-watch for any Apex Legends fan.
