Barbarians of the Badlands - Everything we know about the first Elden Ring DLC
The leak reveals the first Elden Ring expansion, including a new location, Badlands.
We have long understood that Elden Ring will expand, and according to a new leak, we will soon be on a journey from the Interearth to the Badlands "beyond the fog."
The leak was revealed by a Twitter user @hy_plus, who shared an image full of upcoming game content, with "Elden Ring: Barbarians of the Badlands" listed among them.
Elden Ring Barbarians of the Badlands DLC Reportedly Revealed By Leak
As for the credibility of the leak, the account followed up with another tweet that (roughly) translates to "This photo was actually spreading unreliable news that was circulating in China, so I deleted it first."
Elden Ring players will remember Badlands as a region outside of the Interearth, and as the place where Extinguished Souls were banished after Godfrey/Hora Luke "lost his grace" and was stripped of his title as First Lord of Elden.
It is also worth noting that Hora Lu was the king of the badlands before he married Queen Marika. He then became her consort and general of her armies, changing his name to Godfrey.
Most of the Tarnished, including Godfrey, died in the Badlands, but were resurrected in the prologue of Elden Ring and returned to the Inter-Earth to inherit the mantle of Lord, Elden, beginning the events of the game.
The Elden Ring DLC, which takes place in the Badlands, can be installed before or after the events of the game and could give us more information about the history of the Fallen Ones. It will also add new land to explore and, as you'd expect, a lot more bosses.
Of course, take this all as a rumor for now, as the leak has not been confirmed by FromSoftware and Bandai Namco.
Speaking of Bandai Namco, the publisher was the target of a ransomware attack this week.
