Production on the new Batman movie has reportedly been put on hold ahead of its scheduled release in 2021.
Robert Pattinson, star of upcoming 'Batman' movie, tests positive for COVID-19 , Vanity Fair reported on Thursday, adding that London production on the film is currently on hold.
"Participant in production « Batman » contracted the coronavirus and is isolating in accordance with established protocols," Warner Bros. was told, stating that filming is "temporarily delayed" until the actor recovers. Vanity Fair claims that the information is confirmed by reliable sources that Pattinson is the person who added to the list of cases.
The duration of the break will depend not only on the state of Robert Pattinson and quarantine conditions, but also on whether he managed to infect other key members of the group.
Earlier it was reported that the film's team needed about three more months to shoot all the necessary scenes, so the studio expected to complete the filming process before the end of this year. Now, it is almost certain that the deadline will be shifted to next year, which in turn may lead to the postponement of the theatrical premiere, currently scheduled for October 1, 2021.
Note that the shooting of the picture began in the winter of this year and lasted about seven weeks until they had to be interrupted in March due to quarantine restrictions associated with the coronavirus.
