Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Early Access campaign has finally begun. The latest installment brings some significant updates to its prequel as it marks the start of a new journey for the series.

Call of Duty is well known for its action-packed sequences and brilliant storytelling. Modern Warfare (2019) was a huge success thanks to its focus on realism and immersive storytelling. Modern Warfare 2 continues this legacy with a dark and gritty campaign featuring iconic Call of Duty characters.

Full walkthrough of the mission Cartel fighters

Have Alejandro open the door to the first zone. There will be a couple of enemies right after the door opens, so get ready to shoot after entering.

Lead the team inside the house at the corner of the alley. Try to peek and shoot the enemies inside to avoid injury or death. There will be an enemy with a shotgun in the hall, and another enemy has taken cover in the 2nd room to your right.

Go outside and search for a house right next to your location.

Alejandro will do most of the work from the ground floor. Follow him to the second floor.

Clear the room on the second floor. Use grenades or flash to quickly secure the area. One enemy will be behind the sofa, and the other under the table.

After that, an army of enemies will come. Try to hold out for a few minutes and wait for the next target to appear. Alternatively, you can sit outside the room until Alejandro tells you that his team is safe (no need to fight the Mexican army).

Jump out the window and run through the mountains.

Delay and kill all the pursuers to continue. Use rocks and trees for cover to avoid gunfire.

Go down the slope and once again hold your position and bring out another batch of pursuers. Use the same strategy as in the previous meeting.

Continue down and take cover as soon as the RPG hits an area nearby. Kill all enemies to continue.

Follow Alejandro to the edge of the cliff until you reach the next location. Be careful when jumping as you may fall to your death.

You will be ambushed by more enemies on the hill. Kill them all to move on. This wave of enemies will have armored soldiers carrying RPGs, so be sure to take care of them first.

Follow Alejandro and Ghost again and jump down the edge. Dive into the water once you reach a dead end.

Try to avoid the enemies as much as possible and head to the nearest bridge. Use rocks and water to avoid getting shot.

Graves will call for air support as soon as you reach the bridge. Hide and wait for his team to take out the enemies on the bridge before continuing. Approach the vehicle to proceed to the next task.

How to complete the mission Cartel Gunmen on Realistic Difficulty

Use the weapon mount feature to view corners safely

You can use weapon mount function (T on PC) to view corners safely as it allows you to zoom in on the target and make it easier to control recoil when you do. Enemies tend to laser you if you look at them wide. Use the gun mount to safely and methodically clear buildings.

Later, this same function can be used when you are fighting the Mexican army on the side of the mountain. Use the gun mount to shoot and quickly retreat to take cover.

Take advantage of bullet penetration

Most if not all of the walls and doors leading to Hassan's safe house will very thin. Take advantage of this and use bullet penetration to clear the cover of enemies without putting yourself at risk.

Later, while you and the rest of the squad are on the run in the wooded slope of Las Almas, bullet penetration will still play a role, as you can shoot through the trees, especially when enemies use it for cover.

Replace PDSW 528 with RAPP H

Once you get to Hassan's safe house, be sure to change your PDSW 528 secondary to a modified light machine gun RAPP H. next to the window. You'll need this cannon later on to fight off waves of enemies without having to constantly reload. However, make sure you save your M4 as it will be a perfect secondary later on.

You don't have to fight Mexican soldiers in the house

After you fail to find Gassan at the cartel's safe house, the Mexican SWAT will close in and attack your position. During this sequence, Alejandro will tell you that you will need to cover for his men as they make their escape.

You don't have to do anything during this mission segment.. Instead, sit in the back of the room and wait for the scenario fight to play out. After a while, Alejandro will give a signal that his people have left and that you can now evacuate from the building.

First firefight: Get into firing position next to the downed soldier

When you reach the first slope behind Gassan's safe house, you'll have to turn around and fight the pursuing Mexican Special Forces. Use a stone where an ally soldier is shot, as a firing position, as it provides enough cover while still being far enough away to ignore grenades.

Third shootout: Hide under the ledge

The third shootout will take place when the pursuing Mexican army starts shooting at you with an RPG for the first time. To dodge these single missiles, hide under a large ledge and let the enemies push you. Use your light machine gun RAPP H. instead M4so you don't get caught reloading at a bad time.

Fourth shootout: use RAPP H

The fourth shootout will be a bit more difficult. To safely clear it, use RAPP H. and shoot from cover. Hold up your shots when the enemies start jumping off the far cliff, as hitting an RPG soldier will immediately cause them to shoot at you. The cover in this area is destructible, so one missile is enough to ruin your day.

If you hear an RPG exploding, use your non-lethal grenades to stun the rocket man and unload him with RAPP H. However, note that if you can't kill the RPG soldiers while they are dazed, they will automatically fire a rocket at you after the stun ends.

Keep to the right side of the river

To quickly get to the end of the level, stick to right side of the river. If enemies peek through the edge lip, dive down but keep swimming forward. Once you reach the cliff in front of the bridge, you will have already reached the end of the mission. This method is the easiest, as shooting back at pursuing enemies is not necessary for this to work.
