Bungie Releases Destiny 2 Update To Fix Vulnerability In Season Of Arrivals
Bungie quickly released a Season of Arrivals bug fix to fix a specific vulnerability that allowed Destiny 2 players to farm items and gain experience without even playing.
Since the last season of Destiny 2 10 June players began to spend time on leveling up. Hitting the new maximum power is a common goal for the player base. Naturally, the search for any shortcuts to speed up this process always becomes the main topic of conversation.
Just a few days after the start of Season of Arrivals, players discovered an exploit that allowed them to farm the Umbral Engram - an exploit that also allowed players to farm without even playing the hugely popular MMORPG title.
How have players enjoyed the new season in Destiny 2?
Forges are one of the few activities in Destiny that still provide rewards after failing. If you rush the Forge attempt by leaving your characters immobile and dying by the fire brigade, everyone will get new rewards in no time. This was a common practice in earlier seasons, but exclusively for resources.
However, in the final season, failing the Forge could net you an engram, one of the most sought-after items in Destiny 2 today. This has resulted in power hungry players simply merging into the Forge and leaving their game open for an extended period of time.
New Bungie Hotfix to Address Forge Issue
It didn't take long for Bungie to put an end to this power leveling method in the final season. On June 15th, the developers released a fix that caused all players to return to orbit "after completing the blacksmithing action".
This meant that players would have to re-open the action and return to the Forge to repeat the process. This dramatically reduces the efficiency of the exploit.
Bungie's fix couldn't have come at a better time. After players fought their way through the new dungeon at the start of the season, the point remained to reach a new level of power. As a result 63% of all Destiny 2 actions were Forge failures before the last change.
If you want to rush to the new seasonal level cap, you'll have to go through difficult yards again. This means completing weekly quests, getting powerful engrams for all characters, and farming umbral engrams whenever possible.
One of the surest ways to secure new Engrams is through the all-new Contact public event.
