Create a character
For the first time, you will be able to create your own character to enter the campaign mode.
We usually took on the roles of other figures, as seen in previous games, but Activision has confirmed that this year's game will mark the beginning of a new era for single-player Call of Duty.
This time we will be able to change the gender, name, personality, backstory and other details of our character. You'll even have the option to create a CIA dossier on yourself, which can be a fun way to personalize the experience. The choice made here will affect the dialogue, but will not bring any advantages in the game. This is purely a cosmetic feature.
Once the campaign menu loads, you'll move on to character creation. So there is something to look forward to.
New cast of characters
Players generally like to see old faces rear up in the campaign, mostly out of nostalgia. Of course, this time they will be again. Frank Woods, Hudson and Mason have been confirmed for inclusion Activation.
Raven Software has been chosen to create the sequel to the original Black Ops game, and with it some lineup changes. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will feature four new characters:
- Russell Adler — Bruce Thomas
- Helen Park — Lily Coles
- Lazar Azulai — Damon Diub
- Laurence Sims — Reggie Watkins
In addition, it is also worth noting that Navid Negahban, who starred in Showtime's Homeland, was chosen as the main villain. Russell Adler of the CIA will work with the player throughout the campaign and has been described as "America's monster".
Missions and multiple endings
Three missions included in Black Ops Cold War have been announced. To be precise, the first three. They are called: Ukraine, Moscow and Laos.
Traditionally, campaigns had one, maximum two endings. However, this changes in Cold War with multiple possible endings as well as side missions.
There has been a lot of focus on customization this time around, and how you shape your character will determine its fate as you progress.
The game will have a certain RPG element that will dictate what happens to the character as they progress. According to the developers of Raven, each ending will be "special", which should make the mode more replayable than it has been in recent times.
