What we know about Call of Duty: Warzone 2

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is an all-new game with no old content, insiders claim

The other day, thanks to Bloomberg, it became known about the production of the so-called Call of Duty: Warzone 2, but the details of the project are still vague. For the most part, insiders claim that this is a completely new game only for PS5, Xbox Series and PC - without PS4 and Xbox One. Briefly talk about the main thing:

• Warzone 2 is a new game based on Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare (2019) sequel with a themed map;
• the studio plans to retire old content, including weapons and operatives from MW 2019, Black Ops Cold War, and Vanguard;
• the studio needed to take on a "sequel" since the current Warzone requires a huge technical overhaul - now it is outdated, and the MW 2019 client is still at the heart of it;
• the original Warzone isn't going anywhere, but how actively it will be supported is still an open question.
• At the same time, blogger Tom Henderson notes that Warzone 2 may be released in some form on PS4 and Xbox One if sales of current generation consoles are not high enough for the popular royal battle.

Dropping old content in Warzone 2 could be a controversial decision for audiences. Currently, battle royale works as a link between the different games in the series, allowing you to use weapons, operatives and other cosmetic items from three games in one.

The release of Warzone 2 (the name may still change) is scheduled for late 2022-early 2023.
