Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - CS:GO
CS:GO is a multiplayer video game developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment.
As in the rest of the games in the series, in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, players are divided into two teams: terrorists and special forces, after which they fight each other in a series of rounds, the results of which determine the winning team. The player has access to different game modes that change the conditions of the duel between teams, as well as the game with bots.
Game process
Like previous games in the series, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a XNUMXD multiplayer first-person shooter in which players are divided into two teams and fight each other. The game features two teams: terrorists and special forces, as well as three game scenarios: bomb clearance, hostage rescue and battle royale. In the first scenario, players playing as a terrorist team must plant a bomb at one of several planting points, and the special forces must successfully clear it. In the second scenario, players from the terrorist team must prevent the opposing team from rescuing the hostages they have kidnapped.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, like its predecessors Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike: Source, is an esports discipline. Major and Blast Premier tournaments are considered the largest and most prestigious tournaments. Major tournaments are held with the joint support of Valve and the company that hosts the tournament. The first such tournament was DreamHack Winter 2013, which had a prize pool of $250, and starting from MLG Columbus 000, the prize pool was $2016. In 1, 000 such tournaments were held. Another major event is the Blast Premier league, so at Blast Premier 000 the total prize pool was $2019. There are also many other competitions, such as IEM, ESL, Blast Pro Series Starllader, Dreamhack.
First launch of the game
You have finally installed CS:GO. The first thing you will need is a mouse, keyboard and basic knowledge of this game. Let's go over the theory a bit.
The mouse is the main weapon in the hands of a gamer. With the help of the mouse you will control the sight in the game. The better you choose the settings, the higher your chances of winning the gunfight.
The keyboard is another weapon of the gamer. With it, you have to move around in the game.
Sound is your ears. Without sound, you will not hear the movements of your opponents, acting only by eye. In a game without sound, it will be very difficult for you to win. Do not underestimate the sound, because it is he who can give out the location of the enemy, giving life to you or the whole team, for example, when you hear how many enemies are running to one or another point. Choose a range that is comfortable for your ears, at which you can still clearly recognize enemy steps.
Note that you can hear any gunfire on the map. This gives you the opportunity to adapt to your opponents in a given situation.
Game basics
CS:GO is a team game. There are two sides fighting (attacks and defenses). Each team has 5 players, each with a different function. The game lasts 30 rounds. To win, it is enough to win 16 rounds on the map. Players switch sides every 15 rounds. Thus, CS GO offers to play both for the attack side and for the defense side. Depending on the side, players are offered different behaviors. The attack must place a bomb on one of the C4 planting points. There are two such points on the map. The defense side is designed to prevent the planting of the bomb.
Weapon Selection
Devices play an extremely important role in the game. It is with them that you will fight against opponents. Please note that the choice of weapons in the game directly depends on the economy. We will talk about it in a separate article. If you don't have a lot of money at your disposal, it will be better to do an economic round. Another thing is if your rivals are in a similar economic situation. Then it's worth doing a force round.
Also, the choice of weapons depends on the style of play (for example, someone likes to win back with AWP, and someone likes with AK-47), round, intentions and tactics. For example, rounds 1 and 16 you are offered to play exclusively with pistols. Therefore, you are physically unable to buy other weapons.
All weapons in CS: GO, grenades and other devices are divided into 5 groups:
- First slot designed for primary weapons: assault rifles, submachine guns, shotguns, sniper rifles and regular machine guns;
- Second slot designed for pistols;
- Third slot reserved for the knife and Zeus;
- Fourth slot given to grenades. In total, you can purchase 4 grenades per round;
- Fifth slot reserved for the bomb (only for terrorists).
Map control in CS:GO
Another important aspect that accompanies the well-coordinated game of the whole team. It is impossible without communication in the team, as well as knowledge of points on the map.
Map control in CS:GO resembles macro control in Dota 2. That is, it is a tactical aspect of the game, which implies competent movement on the map, tracking the movement of the enemy, team actions to capture / defend points, etc.
Do not forget about the ability to control the movement of opponents after death. When you die, it takes a few seconds for the screen to switch to your teammate. In those few seconds that the game gives you, you can understand the direction of the opponents and give valuable information to the team.
The game can be completely unpredictable in terms of tactics. To get a better understanding of map control, we advise you to watch the actions of professional players, download a demo, go to youtube, or watch an online tournament, where commentators qualitatively analyze all aspects regarding this game!
