Valorant Release Date and Closed Beta End Date Confirmed
Riot Games has officially confirmed that Valorant's release date is June 2nd, with the closed beta ending on May 28th.
Riot has only given a vague "Summer 2020" release window in the past, and while the closed beta has been a resounding success, they're clearly confident in meeting those deadlines.
Valorant introduces a new twist on the classic competitive FPS genre, mixing Overwatch-style abilities with the direct shooting popularized by Counter-Strike. It was a hit on Twitch and those lucky enough to get access to the beta, which was also given an end date.
Valorant release date
Valorant release date - Tuesday, June 2, 2020 . The full game will be available to everyone in most regions and is free to download and play.
“Our goal has always been to bring Valorant to as much of the world as possible as soon as possible, so we hope to be able to do so on June 2nd,” said Valorant Executive Producer Anna Donlon. “The team looks forward to starting our multi-year commitment to serve the global VALORANT community. New game mode, map and agent at launch
Riot also confirmed that when the full game releases on June 2, it will feature a new game mode, agent, and map.
Speculation will likely conclude that the new game mode will be some sort of deathmatch that players have been requesting, but this has yet to be confirmed.
There were ten Agents in the beta and only three maps. The new card could be "The Climb" that was previously leaked , and even shows some screenshots .
When does the Valorant Closed Beta end?
Riot Games confirmed that Valorant Closed Beta will end on May 28th , and players will give one more week after the announcement so they get their final reruns.
This will be disappointing to some, as there were hopes that the beta would continue until the full launch.
However, Riot stated that the time gap between the beta and the full release will allow them to "reset player accounts, fix new content, and prepare to launch VALORANT globally."
When the full game is released, players will begin to be completely updated, all their levels and ranks will be reset, so that all players start from the same point.
New server locations
The announcement also confirmed the addition of new server locations. These include Atlanta, Dallas, London, Madrid and Warsaw.
This should reduce wait times for players in different locations and provide a more even playing field for everyone.
