Destiny 2 Description Update 2.8.1.1
Update 2.8.1.1 for Destiny 2 is now available on all servers, and with the April 29 patch comes a much-needed relief for Crucible and Trials of Osiris players —the infamous Hard Light exotic automatic rifle has finally been destroyed.
thanks early changes in automatic rifles , which allowed the weapons of this class in Destiny to get a leg with the necessary precision buffs, Hard Light became a monster. The general buffs combined with his unique perks made him unstoppable.
After the 2.8.0 buffs, Hard Light was thrown to the top of the Destiny meta. The weapon soon took a leading position in terms of (10,23%) use in the crucible. Only the Revoker Sniper (10,13%) and another Summoner (7,40%) were close, according to DestinyTracker .
Bungie certainly took notice. Before update 2.8.1.1 The developers have confirmed that Hard Light was "at the forefront" of the nerf plans, due to a "shocking" glut in PvP playlists. According to the developers, the plan was to "reduce lethality".
"This patch will focus on weapons that have been shining too brightly in the Crucible since the start of Season of the Worthy," Bungie confirmed. Guardians now have a clear idea of the planned nerfs, and they are quite large.
Hard Light fixes several issues in update 2.8.1.1
In its 2.8.1.1 update, Hard Light hit a few fronts. Damage has now dropped - it was well above the 0,5x Auto Rifle standard - has now been set to 0,7x while recoil adjustment has been lowered.
The weapon also now boasts two separate bullet ricochet damage bonus stats in PvE and PvP modes. When colliding with other Guardians, players will deal 1,35x damage. However, in raids, strikes, and other PvE modes, the 2,0x multiplier remains.
Bungie said they would like to consider using the weapon "for mouse and keyboard users, as the ability to accurately target range allows you to use weapons at longer distances, in addition to being able to use ricochets more effectively."
“Hard light boasts a lot of great stats, and its impact increases the more you use it – after all, no cover is safe,” Bungie added. "So we're reducing some of the aspects that allow indirect fire and unexpected lethality in odd scenarios."
Season pass, Warmind Cell bugs fixed
In addition to the Hard Light changes, Bungie has also provided a Warmind Cell bug fix. Guardians of the seventh seraph were overloading the Guardians - this has been fixed.
Lastly, Bungie also confirmed that Season Pass levels 32 and 92 are "now unlocked for all three characters." This means Guardians who were previously locked out of these levels should now have rewards in their reserves.
Also beware: Bungie is touting this patch as a smaller 150MB update. Unfortunately, it appears that while this is true, the 2.8.1.1 update also asks the Guardians to completely copy their Destiny 2 game state, meaning it downloads almost 100GB instead!
