Valve's brainchild Dota Underlords is gearing up for its official exit from beta, and the developers are releasing daily updates showcasing the latest additions.

Dota Underlords is growing right before our eyes. After several months of beta testing, the Underlords team plans to release the full release very soon and are celebrating with a big update that they have creatively dubbed “The Big Update.”

Starting October 18, the development team is releasing daily updates with details of the big update. To be clear, the Underlords beta doesn't end with a patch, but the team said it "marks the beginning of the end for the Underlords beta."

However, they have already announced several new alliances and characters. For those unfamiliar, alliances are groups of units that have a corresponding trait and provide a bonus when played together. Certain bonuses require a certain number of characters from the same alliance.

On the first day, they unleashed the Healer Alliance, which enhances healing when grouped together. Joining this group and the Troll Alliance is Dazzle, a tier two unit that sends out a shadow wave that heals allies and harms enemies.

An Insect Union has also been discovered with units that cause spiders to swarm from the edges of the board and can bite enemies to make them miss attacks. The Weaver, Nyx Assassin, and Broodmother add-ons all support the new insect alliance.

On the second day, they revealed a lone champion, the commander of the Legion. Champions receive all alliance bonuses, and a legion commander (also human) can earn a bonus by targeting and defeating the enemy with the least amount of XP.

Beasts also debuted on Day XNUMX, which can deal additional damage and apply Damage Retaliation. Joining the Brutes alliance is the new additions Lifestealer (heals while attacking) and Magnus (can buff an ally's damage and grant them a split ability).

Released on June 20 this summer, Underlords was the latest in a trio of autobattlers games inspired by Dota 2's Autochess mod. The mod's developers went on to create their own standalone game called Autochess, Riot went ahead with Teamfight, and Valve went ahead with Dota Underlords.

Dota Underlords is also available on mobile devices, as well as being cross-platform and being able to run the game on PC.

With new additional alliances and heroes, Valve is putting a lot of heroes on the board that is Dota Underlords and it will be interesting to see what else the team has planned for the big update.
