Dota Underlords Big Update: Complete Patch Description
Valve has announced a huge Dota Underlords update, finally adding the mysterious Lords to the game.
Let's get started.
The lords (after whom the game is named), having watched the events from the sidelines for many months, finally joined the battle. Before each game, you choose a lord to lead your team. He will fight side by side with the heroes, use abilities, give upgrades and become stronger with each game.
Each lord has a set of unique talents that can be selected throughout the game. These talents unlock and improve your abilities. Anessix and Hobgen each have 22 talents, 11 of which are initially unlocked. Play (including with bots) and you will unlock the rest of the talents. This update adds a co-op mode of play called Duo Mode. In it, you form a group with a friend and fight against seven other duos (16 players in total, to be exact). Both you and your partner hire and upgrade your fighters, but in addition, you can transfer gold and heroes to each other. But be careful: you not only have a general level, but also a general health. Battles with other teams take place in pairs, and the damage per round is summed up. So far, only the regular version of the pair mode is available in the game, and the developers promise to add a rating version very soon.
Also included in the update is Freemode. Here you can quickly recreate and test different situations. Maybe you want to test your strategy? Or do you want to learn a new hero and try it out? Or maybe you are like us and just want to know who will win: 32 Tomatoes or 32 Potatoes? (spoiler: easy for Potatoes)
There are new alliances - insects, healers, brutes and champions - and heroes such as Faceless, Io, Spidermother and Legion Commander are already waiting for you in the shop. In total, the list was replenished with twelve heroes who formed new alliances and expanded existing ones. There are also significant balance and gameplay changes for other heroes, so check out the changelog below if you're interested in the details.
You must be thinking, “Wow, so many new heroes. How can I collect at least one three-star? But it's not just us who read your mind, but White Spire law enforcement as well. Every day, a random 8-12 heroes are in the jail, and their list is constantly changing. To see all the prisoners and their offenses, click on the jail button in the main menu, the game launcher or in the shop. And don't worry: even though a few heroes are behind bars, it will always be possible to fully collect all the alliances.
Among other things, the developers have changed the interface on PC and mobile devices. From the new main menu, to the new message system (of course, you can answer “Yo!” to each one), and a full-fledged PC interface, they have tried to work out and improve all sections. Added new buttons for communicating with a Duos mate, a menu for experimenting in Freemode, a talent selection interface for your lord, everything for the new features of the Big Update.
After the release of the update, ranked mode was enabled for a few hours to make sure everything works as it should. When the Ranked Mode is relaunched, the ranks of the players will drop slightly as part of the update. Try to beat your previous record or become Lord of the White Spire again.

PAIR MODE
Together with a friend, go into battle with seven other teams. The last duo standing wins. You share health and can transfer gold and heroes to each other. To play in duo mode, you and a friend need to create a group in the game.

Here you can quickly recreate and test different situations. The resulting battlefield can be shared with others.
CATALYAGE
Every 24 hours, several heroes are sent to jail. Heroes cannot be recruited in the game until they are released the next day. At the same time, despite the lack of heroes, all alliances can be assembled.

5 gold now gives 5 experience instead of 4. Leveling has changed accordingly:

A hubbub is heard in the White Spire. Now almost every hero in Underlords has a lot of lines, and the rest of the heroes are on their way!
Now you can choose Hobgen or Anessix by his lord. Lords are powerful beings, leaders of your army. You will be able to develop them during the game by choosing talents suitable for your team. The choice is given every 5 rounds, starting from the tenth. Lords' unique talents enhance and modify their abilities. But be careful: lords are not immortal and can die in combat every round.
Excitement
Lords need excitement to use abilities. Each lord gains excitement every second, and also has additional opportunities to accumulate it: for example, the lord gains 10 excitement for killing, and if he is stunned or cursed, then he loses 5 excitement every second. If you kill an enemy lord, your lord will get double the excitement for the rest of the fight.
Excitement is not spent when the lord uses an ability.
Lord abilities
Once the lord has accumulated enough excitement, he will use the ability if it is ready. Each ability has its own cooldown.
Chatter
Each lord has a different set of taunts for both the preparation phase (they will be heard by all players) and the combat phase (these lines will be heard only by the current opponent).
Chosen by Nyx:

- Ability: prickly chitin. Nyx's Chosen fires spikes from its shell, blocking and reflecting 100% damage once from each attacker, and stunning them for [1/1,5/2] seconds. (100 mana, cooldown: 10 seconds)
- Ability: Vendetta. PASSIVE: Chosen Nyx's first attack after moving towards a target will deal 200 more damage and apply a debuff on the target for 4 seconds, disabling all passive bonuses.
Dark Demon:

- Ability: Demonic Cleansing. Permanently cleanses the target, removing all positive effects from it and slowing it for 5 seconds. The target's movement and attack speed gradually returns to it. Dazzle:

- Ability: shadow wave. Dazzle fires a powerful blast that jumps at [3/4/5] allies within a 3 radius of each other, healing them for [80/140/200] health and dealing [80/140/200] damage to enemies within 1 radius. The ability always heals Dazzle himself. (100 mana, cooldown: [10/8/6] seconds)
Magnus:
- Alliances: shaman, bully
- Discharge: 2
- Ability: mountain power. Magnus enrages an ally, increasing the target's damage by [30/50/80]% and granting them [30/50/80]% cleave damage. Lasts 20 seconds. (0 mana, cooldown: 7 seconds)
Weaver:
- Alliances: insect, hunter
- Discharge: 2
- Ability: Shukuchi. The weaver becomes invisible, making it untargetable. It finds a prey within a 3 radius and runs through it and all creatures in its path, dealing [60/120/200] damage to each enemy it hits. (20 mana, cooldown: [6/5/4] seconds)

- Ability: Leash. Io locks onto a nearby ally and flies towards them. Together they gain +[50/80/110] Attack Speed and +[10/20/30]% Damage Resistance. The connection will break if the distance between the heroes is more than 4 cells. (0 mana, cooldown: 2 seconds after link break)
- Ability: Moving. Io teleports off the field for 4 seconds to bring a fallen ally back into the fight. Both heroes will return with full health and no negative effects. (100 mana, cooldown: 60 seconds)
Legion Commander:

- Ability: Duel. The Legion Commander challenges the enemy with the least health within 1 radius to a duel. Both heroes only attack each other for [4/4,75/5,5] seconds and cannot use abilities. If one of the heroes dies during the duel, the survivor will permanently gain +[5/10/15] Attack Damage. (100 mana, cooldown: 40 seconds)
- Ability: Will of the bull snake. DRAGONS ALLIANCE BONUS PASSIVE: If the Legion Commander wins the duel, she instantly recovers 50% of her maximum health.
Life Eater:
