The G3 cartel is full of criminal outcasts and terrible aliens, so figure out how to beat Douglas in High on Life, should be something that doesn't hurt. This torture-loving, spacesuit-wearing squid can give you a ton of trouble when you run into him, and figuring out the perfect strategy can help you get back to your home and tell Jin how good things went.
If you're following our other High On Life boss guides, this should be the third reward you'll receive. This means you'll definitely make progress by collecting all of High on Life's weapons and coming up with more ways to deal with those G3 cartel henchmen (or henchmen). But you will need to defeat Douglas in order to make further progress.

Accept the contract and proceed to Port Terren
With 9-Torg dead, you can kill any of the 2 available bounty targets. Accept Douglas bounty on Bounty 5000 and head to the planet Port Terren to get started.
Use the information scanner to get to the gorge
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by vast stretches of desert. Use your information scanner (press T or Up D-pad) to generate waypoints that you can follow in the ravine while dealing with enemies you find along the way.
Use Tether, Glob Shot and Dash to cross the gorge
Once in the gorge, you will encounter several platforming sequences. Use Kenny's Glob Shot, Knifey's Tether and dash Modulesto safely make your way across.
Killing or ignoring the brothers will not affect the story
A group of tied builders that you will find at the beginning of the gorge will run into you as soon as you get close to them. You can either ignore them or kill them. Any of these options will not affect the outcome of the mission.
Talk to Old Wet Grundy to get to Old Town
After you successfully cross the gorge, talk to Old Wet Grundy to ask him more about Old Town, Dreg City, G3, and Douglas. Once you've got the information, let Grundy open the gate giving you access to the Old City.
Kill the G3 recruits in the Old City
In this area, you will need to kill some G3 recruits. After the first wave, the alien guarding the gate to Dreg City will tell you that you will need to kill the rest of the G3 recruits before he can release the blockage. Do as he says to gain access to Dreg City.
Enter the city of Dreg and find the G3 recruiting center
When the path ahead is clear, head to Dreg Town by taking the funicular (you can listen to Douglas while the animation plays). Once in the city itself, explore the area to find recruiting center G3.
Collect warp crystals from warped bases
In the middle of this exploration segment, you'll be fighting a few G3 recruits and wildlife. Once the battle is over, be sure to loot the Warp Crystals that you can find on top of the Warped Bases. This is a special type of currency that you can spend once you return to Blim City.
Talk to the Goop guy and get Gooped
Before you can even enter the Recruitment Center, you will need to get gooped. Find Gupa Gaya, hidden in a small alley, and talk to him to acquire Goop.
Take part in G3 orientation
Being stupid enough, go inside the recruiting center and take part in the Orientation. Once the video is over, you will be taken through a battery of tests to evaluate your combat and movement skills.
Kill recruits to claim Durashields
During the combat test, you can kill your fellow recruits to get Durashield pickups, which replenish your shields. It will be safe to betray them, as they will only aggress one after another and not everyone will become hostile once you shoot one of them.
Use the Dodge to complete the Electric Platformer segment
Dodge will be your movement technique to get through this section unscathed. Remember, at the end of the platforming segment, you will have to make a long jump. Use the dash in the middle of the jump to get to the far edge of the cliff.
Find your way past the 1-hour waiting room
Once you are the last male or female, in the next orientation room, Douglas will tell you that you need to wait 1 full hour before you can continue with the test. Follow your gun's advice and use the nearest ventilation system to bypass the waiting room.
Solve Dr. Joopy's first puzzle
In order to get to the next portion of the reward, you will need to help a squid alien named Dr. Joopy. Solve the puzzle he gives you to continue the mission.
Kill all recruits
Despite the promise of a direct shot at Douglas HQ, the zipline ride ends abruptly as the game throws you into an arena filled with G3 recruits battling it out. Kill them all and emerge victorious to continue the mission.
Note: Don't forget to collect the Warp Crystal near the exit from the arena. Again, this can be used later as a form of currency in one of the stores in Blim City.
Solve Dr. Joopy's "Second Trumpet" puzzle
After the battle royale rookie, you will once again need to help Dr. Joopy with another tubular puzzle. Solve it again to continue working in the G3 cartel's base of operations.
Fight your way to Douglas headquarters
In the next part of the mission, you will be fighting several waves of enemies as you make your way forward towards Douglas' headquarters. Kill all the G3 recruits attacking you and work your way to Douglas' location.
Solve Dr. Joopy's third chimney puzzle to unlock the door to Douglas HQ
The last obstacle for the headquarters will be another puzzle. Help Dr. Joopy one last time and complete the puzzle to unlock the door leading to Douglas' room.
Defeat Douglas and get his tentacle
After you figure out that Dr. Joopy and Douglas are one and the same, make him pay for the deception by killing him. Avoid the electric platforms that light up the arena and keep exploding until Douglas is defeated.
What to do when soft is blocked after a boss fight
If you're stuck in the boss room after defeating Douglas, make sure your game is up to date. Squanch Games released a major patch update on December 14, 2022 to address this issue, as well as other notable bug fixes.
Use Sweezy to escape Douglas HQ
Once you have proof that the bounty is complete, pick up Sweezy - the brand new Gatlian - and use her ability Bubble Timeto escape Douglas' former headquarters. Deal with any enemies you encounter along the way and use the portal to safely return to Blim City.
Twist in Douglas Tentacle
As with 9-Torg, use Bounty 5000 to turn on Douglas' tentacle and complete the bounty. This will either allow you to unlock more contracts or free you up to complete Bounty Krubis if you haven't already.
How to beat Douglas
Focus on dodging the electric floor as it teleports
During the boss fight, Douglas will start flashing between various pillars while the ground begins to glow with electricity. When this happens, ignore Douglas and focus on dodging the electrified platforms. Use a Dodge module or Knifey's tether to stay away from electrified floor tiles.
Deal with Grunts to get Durashield pickups
Again, in the middle of the fight, G3 Grunts will start spawning. Since they are fairly easy to deal with, keep some of them alive and only kill them when your shields fall too low. They will drop Durashield pickups that charge you back up, so splitting the drops will help you survive the boss fight easily.
Use Kenny's Shot to temporarily stop Douglas
Kenny's Glob Shot, while primarily used for clearing large enemy groups and removing obstacles, can also temporarily stun bosses, giving you the ability to use the Knifey for extra damage.
