Players are now venturing into all that Aeternum has to offer, and there is a ton of content for players to dive into, with aspects like crafting, fishing, and leveling being some of the main components.
One aspect that you are more likely to learn about in later levels is gems. They are especially important after you have obtained some high-level equipment.
What are gems used for in New World?
Gems are basically modifications and power-ups that you will be able to place on certain items in New World. Most of the time this weapon/armor will be blue in rarity, so around level 22 you will mostly run into these gem slots.
You will know that you have received equipment that has a slot for inserting gems in a rounded section with a special symbol next to the equipment logo. If the slot is empty, then you can equip the gem if they are compatible with each other.
How to get New World gems
The stone cutting table is used for a variety of tasks in New World, along with crafting gems.
If you want to level up your gear, then you need gems and craft mods to use.
Players will first need to find the raw gem material itself before they can equip their weapons with it. They can be found through mining materials and are often random when it comes to the drop part, but you can accumulate gems over time.
Also, players have the option to go to their city's trading post to buy raw gems, but they will usually cost a decent amount of gold.
Once you have the gems in your inventory, head to the gem cutting table. Once here, select the gem you want to create and find the necessary materials you will need to craft it,
Another note about crafting these gems is that you will also need certain items called "pollen or dust", which you can obtain by collecting special plants throughout Aeternum.
