Fortnite introduced an incredible new location as part of the new Mega City map. This is the hottest landing spot on the island right now, as it's a huge Tokyo-inspired city, so there's a lot of loot here, and it's also one of the coolest POIs in the game.
There is also a dragon on top of one of the buildings. It could be a mech that comes to life as the season progresses, similar to the mech fight from season 9 chapter 1. However, it is impossible to tell if it is a benevolent fur or one that is dangerous.
Currently, it is harmful as the dragon traps and kills players. Here's how players get killed by the dragon and how to avoid it.
How Fortnite Mega City dragon is killing players
Arriving in Mega City, it is impossible not to see the dragon lying on top of one of the buildings due to its huge size and unexpected addition to the game.
However, this can be harmful. It currently has a wind tunnel that can be used to fly away like other creatures in previous seasons of Fortnite.
The dragon does not lie flat on the building, which means that you can get under it. Theoretically, this could be a good hiding place for those who waited and then flew away when they needed it.
However, it is impossible to get out of some points under the dragon. There are visible ways to get free, but the game does not allow players to escape, no matter what they do. At this point, they were trapped.
Waiting under Mega City's dragon might take a long time if the storm is merciful. However, Mega City is not located in the middle of the map, which often results in early deaths for players.
The only way out is if all the remaining players kill themselves and others, and the storm closes at this point.
Considering this was discovered and spread by Glitch King, a popular YouTuber who regularly shares XP crashes and game outages with the community, it's reasonable to assume that this is not an intended feature added by Epic Games.
The dragon most likely shouldn't catch anyone, and players should be able to fly freely in and around it.
This also means that it will probably get fixed eventually. Since this isn't exactly a gaming breakthrough, Epic won't be rushing the patch. However, they will probably fix it soon.
Until then, avoid getting close to the dragon or you could end up trapped without being able to fly away, which isn't how you want to spend an entire Fortnite match.
