Fight to survive
В Dungonian your goal is to survive as long as possible and assemble as many coins as possible before meeting your untimely end. The odds are stacked against you, and because this game is so random, your run can only be interrupted by bad luck.
Therefore, you should only fight if absolutely necessary. If you have to fight, take the path of least resistance and target the smallest monsters that have a weak health bar around you. Remember that monsters' health is equal to their attack power.
You want to try and hold on to your weapon for as long as possible. You never know which monster will move next turn, so if you move into a space where a monster was going to move, it will attack you instead. Weapons can help avoid ambush situations.
Alternative between weak and strong targets
When you first start running, only weak monsters will meet you. These monsters usually have no more than 4 xp, so they can be easily taken out.
However, as you continue, the monsters gradually become stronger and stronger. If you only target weaker monsters, you'll end up with a room full of stronger, fatter monsters, which of course you want to avoid!
Kill weaker monsters until a new weapon appears, and then grab it as quickly as possible. Use the new weapon to kill one of the strong monsters to keep everything under control.
Don't take up arms until you're ready.
When you approach the weapon card tile, you will automatically arm the weapon and be ready for combat. However, if you already have a weapon, the game will ask which weapon you want to keep.
Regardless of what you choose, the new weapon will disappear. If you accidentally land on a tile while you already have a weapon, you can spend it. Try not to pick up a weapon until your current weapon is badly damaged or if you are completely unarmed.
Use special moves wisely
Each hero has a special move that takes ten turns to fully charge. After charging, the hero can use his special offer at any time, but he will have to wait another ten turns to use it again.
The special moves are very powerful and they can save your life if you use them at the right time. The starting hero, the Knight, immediately gets a sword and recovers 6 HP, making him great for survival.
Each hero's special move is different - it can range from support abilities to powerful AoE devastating moves and so on. Know to use your special move to the fullest!
Unlocking new heroes and improving them
When you collect gold coins, you might be wondering what you can do with them. Well, you can do a lot! You can buy chests that give you a random hero, or you can use them to upgrade your weapons.
As a free player, you will probably be buying regular chests. These chests cost 1000 gold and can contain a small amount of gems, plus a hero. Most likely you will get a regular rare hero, but there is a chance for a higher rare hero.
Chests that cost gems have a higher chance of getting rarer heroes, so this is what you should aim for ultimately with your gems. Keep opening the main chests for more gems!
When you get a hero, you will unlock it for the game. If you get a hero that you already own, it will level up, increasing your maximum health. It's never bad to get double heroes!
Unlock and upgrade weapons
You start the game with a small set of weapons. If you visit Weapons from the main menu, you can spend coins to upgrade weapons, which increase their maximum damage.
You can also spend coins to unlock new weapons that will appear during the game. Some weapons can be unlocked immediately, so be sure to go to the Weapon and unlock it right away.
Some weapons have special effects, and the only way to confirm this is to check it out in Weapons. The game does not offer on-the-fly explanations for each option, so you will need to refer here.
For example, the Vampire Sword has life, and the Golden Sword converts its damage into gold coins, among other effects.
Weapon upgrades are good, but you should focus on unlocking new heroes and leveling up heroes to increase your chances of survival. High weapon damage is good, but since you never know what weapons will spawn, it's best to go after the heroes first.
Watch out for special enemies
Have you ever wondered what the laughing happy face in the little box above the enemies meant? Well, it turns out that this field shows whether the enemy has special properties. Here are all of them:
- ♦The sword icon means that the enemy can only be killed with a weapon.
- ♦The two-person icon means that this enemy has split into multiple copies of itself, unless it was killed in one hit.
- ♦The hammer icon means that this enemy can only be damaged by blunt heavy weapons.
- ♦Knockout means this monster regenerates health, so it must be killed in one hit.
- ♦A laughing happy face means the monster has no special properties.
- ♦ Spikes means the monster has a 50/50 chance to create spikes that grab the tile it's on.
- ♦Fist means the monster can only be damaged by unarmed attacks.
- ♦The broken sword icon means that this monster will break your weapon if you hit it with one of them.
Special enemies don't spawn until you're away in the game, so you won't have to worry about them for a while. When they do show up, they can cause problems, so make sure you plan for them.
Grab coins and stay equipped
В Dungonian so many random elements that you need to be prepared for anything. Grab the gold coins as soon as they fall, because if the monster moves onto a tile in the correct position, it will be pushed off the screen.
This applies to almost every other subject. You never know which monster will move next, so an attack is expected at any moment. As long as you have a weapon, you will be fine as you will automatically counterattack.
