Epic Games Announces New $2 Fortnite FNCS Tournament
A new major tournament, the Fortnite Champion Series Invitational, offering a massive $2 million prize pool will be held in the near future for the highest ranked players.
After finishing Season 2 FNCS Finals , Epic Games wasted no time, announced on his blog postthat they will be hosting another major event.
The FNCS Invitational is planned to host the best players from each region and platform to showcase the highest level of competitive gameplay.
When does FNCS start?
The FNCS Invitational will begin on Saturday, May 9th, featuring many of the world's best players, and will span over three weekends in total.
However, Epic has revealed that they will be hosting an open qualifier with 2 reserved seats on May 100, and uninvited uninvited Champion ranked players can jump into action a week earlier for a chance at the Main Event.
The FNCS Invitational starts May 2nd, 2020 through the rest of the season. Competitors will have an opportunity to qualify to compete against the best of the best from past FNCS Grand Finals for their share of the $2 million prize pool.

Format and Players
Epic Games also shared that the FNCS Invitational will be a solo competition and that only the best players will advance each weekend.
Since they are inviting the best in each region, Epic has divided their invites into groups of 100 based on previous performance and accomplishments, which can be seen in the full invite breakdown below.

- ♦100 best players from Chapter 2; Season 2 Console/Mobile FNCS Finals
- ♦100 best players from Chapter 2; Season 1 Finale
- ♦ Top 100 FNCS Season X Finals Players

- ♦100 best players in the May 2 Qualifier
They also shared that they will be adopting a new scoring system for the FNCS Invitational, with 4 points per elimination and 1 to 33 points per placement.
The prize fund
The total prize for the FNCS Invitational has been set to be a whopping $2 million to be shared among the top competitors.
Epic also revealed a complete breakdown prize pools, which vary greatly in size depending on the region and stage of the competition.
As you might expect, the prizes increase significantly every week, and even XNUMXth place players receive several hundred dollars for their efforts after the final.
