In the latest patch, the developers have developed unpopular overload protection tacticto cause players to lose stamina a little faster than usual. In the new Title Update #13 patch, they focused on other things like shiny animations, a better indication of your connection to a match, and a few tweaks to the career mode.

The highlight change in the new update for FIFA 20 comes in the form of animation settings. Ever since the updated physics was introduced a few games ago, players have been frustrated with alleged "fouls" resulting in penalties, hits, and bad play.

The developers have now noted that players will no longer perform the context capture animation while in the jockey state, so they can defend a bit more easily and not be in a hurry to foul.

Elsewhere, tweaks have been made to ensure Ultimate Team matches have a better connection, as a numeric indicator will show the ping to the data centers.

This means that you will no longer just have on-screen panels representing good communication between players. In fact, you will be able to judge whether the game will lag a lot at launch.

You can find the full fixes from the update below, including visual bug fixes, changes to the presentation for the Premier League in Career Mode, and some changes to selected team kits.

The patch download is around 4,7GB for Xbox, 4,3GB for PlayStation owners, and Origin stats on PC are not available at the time of writing.

Game process

The following changes have been made:

Players will no longer perform the context capture animation while in jockey state.
Slightly increased the accuracy of analog input values in online matches.
This change is most noticeable when a penalty kick is awarded during an online match.
Slightly reduced sprint sensitivity.

The following issues have been resolved:

➤After moving a skill and having possession of the ball, players will sometimes perform a feint instead of the requested hit.
Rare cases are considered when the boy with the ball took a long time to return the ball for a throw-in.

FUT

The following changes have been made:

Added a numerical ping indicator, measured in milliseconds, for online match lobbies in modes that use data centers.

Ping bars remain on the lobby screen and represent the following values:

➤5 bars show 30 milliseconds or less.
➤4 columns show 31 - 76 milliseconds.
➤3 bars show 77 - 100 milliseconds.
➤2 columns indicate 101 - 150 milliseconds.
➤1 bar means 150 milliseconds or more.

Added a Traits tab to the Player Details popup detailing all Traits the selected player item has.

Solved the following problem:

➤Level 30 Season Player Goal Item rewards were not correctly displaying the icon outside of the contract, it was only a visual issue.

Career mode

The following issues have been resolved:

➤Some elements of the Premier League Presentation Pack remained on screen during the game.
Removed inappropriate text on news feeds related to CONMEBOL.
