The highly anticipated Final Fantasy XIV Online expansion will release later this year, so here's everything you need to know about FFXIV Endwalker, including a release date, trailer, and tons of new features.

FFXIV's popularity continues to grow as former WoW players and MMO fans flock to the plains of Eorzea to see the wonders of this kingdom.

But Eorzea is far from over, as Square Enix has announced that a new adventure is lurking on the game's horizon. The long-awaited addition, dubbed "Endwalker", will be released later this year and will complete the exciting adventure of one of the game's most famous storylines.

FFXIV Endwalker Release Date

Initially, the release of FFXIV Endwalker was supposed to be 23 November. However, it was postponed until 7 December . Director Naoki Yoshida cited several reasons, including a desire to improve the game's stability.

FFXIV Endwalker: Platforms

Like the main game, Endwalker will be available on Windows PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It can be purchased directly from Square Enix or also through the Steam client.

The trailer shows the time since the second coming of the Last Days - Armageddon. In the video, we will meet some of the most famous faces of Eorzea preparing to fight their cruel enemies.

FFXIV Endwalker Crystal Conflict: New PvP Mode

Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker introduces a new small-scale PvP mode called Crystal Conflict. This is a five vs five mode based on short matches that can be random, ranked or individual and take place on different maps.

Moreover, the developers decided to remove the restrictions on roles. Instead, they will be replaced with actions and tasks specific to that mode. Square Enix believes that this system will put less pressure on players.

The mode also includes a rewards system that allows players to unlock titles, achievements, and other rewards for their efforts during each season.

FFXIV Endwalker PvP System Overhaul

However, it's not just the Crystal Conflict. The overall PvP system of Final Fantasy XIV Online is also undergoing an overhaul.

The developers introduce periods of the series that run in parallel with the seasons of Crystal Conflict. This allows players to earn additional rewards for participating in PvP content by leveling up their streak over a period of time.

Rewards include everything from equipment and mounts to special tokens that can be exchanged for items and more.

Business Card System

Endwalker is also introducing a new feature called the Calling Card System. This allows players to have customizable profiles that are displayed at the start of every PvP match. They will also be shown in the player search window.

Backgrounds and other additional customization options will be added as rewards throughout each season and each episode.

What is the Endwalker story about?

Following previous expansions, Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers, players are encouraged to play them first before heading into the Last Days.

The Endwalker sees that the Warrior of Light will finally take on the Garlean Empire, hoping to overthrow the expansionist might once and for all. With the mad King Zenos at the helm seeking a confrontation with the player's Warrior of Light, you'll have to defeat the tyrant to finally restore peace.

However, with the cult leader Phandaniel pulling Zenos' strings, the Last Days for Eorzea are getting closer and closer. With the apocalypse approaching, killing Zenos won't be enough.

This arc concludes the storyline that has continued in FFXIV Online, with a new story that was promised to be released in major patches after the release of Endwalker.

FFXIV Endwalker Editions

Players will be able to purchase one of two different editions of Endwalker: the Digital Collector's Edition and the Standard Edition. Pre-ordering any of these will grant players Early Access 3 December в 13:00 PM PST / 4:00 AM EST / 9:00 AM BST / 10:00 AM CET.
