Fontaine - Hydro region Genshin impact, which is scheduled for release on version 4.0 of the game, which will arrive on the servers after the end of the Sumeru arc.
The next region to be included in Genshin Impact will be Fontaine. Based on France, the country is ostensibly filled with rivers and waterways and proud of its culture.
The land of Teyvat is made up of seven regions, four of which are in the game, three of which remain mostly a mystery aside from the name and some tidbits. All seven areas were featured in the Teyvat chapter storyline preview released back in 2020. This teaser video names all seven regions and shows known characters for each, letting us know that the game has just begun.
When will Fontaine be released in Genshin Impact?
In the fourth chapter of the Teyvat Chapter storyline preview, it was shown that Fontaine would be coming out in Genshin Impact after the Dendro of the Lands. For now it could be anytime starting June 2023, which will allow patches from 3.2 to 3.7 to be released.
There is a possibility that Fontaine's access route area will be added to the game before the full region, and leaks suggest this could arrive in patches 3.5-3.7.
A leak related to version 3.6 suggests that an area called "Sunken Jade Valley" will be added. This may be the working name of Qiaoying Village, an area that was mentioned several times in the name and which is probably the route leading from Li Yue to Fontaine.
Which Archon and Fontaine's element in Genshin Impact
Fontaine, as the name suggests, will be the earth of the Hydro element. So it will be Hydro Archon. Other than that, the only thing we know is that she is known as the "Goddess of Justice".
Where is Fontaine in Genshin Impact - Map of Hydro Region
This is where the rumors get a little more significant. From what's leaked, Fontaine will be located above and behind Li Yue, west of Stormterror Lairs.
Presumably a new way to get there will be added, something like a valley and a waterway, with the aforementioned Qiaoying Village above it. Here, players will be able to take a boat from Li Yue to Fontaine. Also mentioned was an area called Tenyu Valley, which is potentially the name of a waterway.
What characters will Fontaine be in Genshin Impact
Even in the history of Genshin Impact, there is not a single prominent Fontaine hero. We met several NPCs, but no playable characters were found.
We met Bertrand, a toy manufacturer, at an event, Francis, a traveling merchant in Port Ormos, and Xavier at Mount Mikage in Inazuma. They are both dressed differently than NPCs from other regions, so this gives us an idea of Fontaine's clothing style.
In addition, the Genshin Facebook page posted a recent quote about Little Queen Kusanali from "Chief Justice Nevillette", Fontaine's character. She has not yet appeared in any other aspect of the game, so who she is and what her meaning is remains a mystery.
The two characters in the preview of the Teyvat chapter storyline are known as Lynn and Lynette; two pale blondes in almost circus clothes. Lynn appears on the left, dressed as a ringmaster, and Lynette is a cat girl, swimming on the right. Given that Fontaine is an arts region, we assume these characters are related to circus and vaudeville.
Banner Schedule
So far, there are absolutely no rumors or leaks about possible characters or reruns in Fontaine's updates. Lynn and Lynette are the only characters we know of that are likely to appear in banners. Whether they will be 4 or 5 stars remains a mystery. It's unlikely that Hoyoverse will release two similar 5-star heroes at once to unlock a new area, so they could be a combination of 4 and 5-stars, or both 4-stars.
Hydro Archon, whoever he is, will be a playable character, released probably in the middle of the 4.x updates, like previous archons, along with some other characters that provide them with synergy in the team.
What do we know about Fontaine's story and plot?
Information regarding any Fontaine story is scarce, but there are a few interesting facts that give us clues as to what we can expect.
Quote dainsleif in the chapter trailer looks like this:
“The Goddess of Justice lives only for the sake of judgment, but not for truth, and therefore is ready to judge even the Gods. But she also understands that it is impossible to argue with the heavenly order.
Cours de la Fontaine is the place where the Hydro Archon lives, and justice is highly valued in these lands.
In contrast, Fontaine is a country that, according to the NPC, "reveres true beauty and elegance." Rock and roll comes from this area, as do most art and music. Their dress sense, as we've seen, has a certain style - almost steampunk in a way, and a bit over the top.
Fontaine is said to have access to his own set of technologies. The camera was invented here, and there is supposedly an "air-rail" system for traveling around the region.
As a cultured nation, Fontaine would not be without its own publication: The Steambird is a newspaper read all over Teyvat and published by Cours de la Fontaine. Mona works here as a writer, as does the reporter Gaston, who appears at the Alcazar Saray in Sumeru.
However, this does not mean that the area is thriving. Fontaine uses "energy" that decomposes and dries up. The inhabitants of the area are no longer happy, so the likes of the toy manufacturer Bertrand have left the region.
