Fortnite: Trials of Dean Mitta Walkthrough Guide

We will consider everything Dean Mitta trials and instructions for overcoming Weeks 3 and 4 in this guide! In Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2, the challenges are a little different in that you get a whole bunch of them to complete each week. If you complete at least 18 of these Dean Mitta challenges, you will have the option to choose the Ghost or Shadow style for her skin! Once you've made your choice, you won't be able to get another style.

As you'd expect with these Dean Mitta challenges, you'll have to explore her side of the map next to the Oil Rig, as well as use some pretty hefty explosive weapons to deal damage during Week 3.

Dean Mitt Challenge Guide Week 3

Eliminate players with explosives (5)

Now you have different options for this when Mines are available to you. There are also rocket launchers and grenades that you can use, but it all depends on what you can find in any of the games. I would go to Team Rumble and try to find any number of explosives there to get exceptions for this challenge.

Find chests in Holly Fences and Outpost (10)

Any location is worth a visit, but it's usually best to start from Team Rumble by searching for chests, as there are many more of them in this mode. Go to a place further away from the bus route and you will hopefully be the first one there. The outlet is likely to be the more popular spot, so head to Hollyfences if you're hoping for fewer people.

Destroy structures with propane tanks (10)

Propane tanks are kind of a story that goes with Dean Mitta's character. She can be found at the Oil Rig, which also has a lot of red propane tanks that you will need to destroy things. You can actually pick up these propane tanks and throw them where they will bounce and then explode after a short time. You don't have to destroy just the enemy structure, so you can build a ramp yourself and blow it up.

Jump on the Boat (5)

You can find a boat west and east of Lonely Lake, around Dirty Dock, in Mountain Town, on the banks around Beach Village. Almost anywhere there is water, you can find a boat. Just take one of them and launch it off a cliff, or set up a couple of ramps and use the turbo on them!

Visit different attractions (15)

Points of interest are simply places that are not explicitly marked on the map. You can find almost all of the same Attractions from last season still on the map. Check out the following map for a bunch of different places you can visit.

Modify the weapon at the workbench (3)

Bring a weapon to one of the upgrade machines that you can find throughout the map. Use the upgrade option, which will change it to a similar but different weapon of the same type!

Deal Damage to Bosses (500)

You can find bosses in new locations: Shark, Yacht, Grotto, Oil Rig and Agency. Each location has a boss, you can take out one of the spies and look for the red crown icon to find them. Give them some damage and you can pass the test in several different games. Bosses have higher health in duos and squads, so you can go solo and try there.

Landing at Oil Rig, Hydro Station 16 and Sawmill (1)

These three locations are pretty close to each other, and you can find a boat just north of Mountain Town to get to other places relatively quickly. You can also land on Hydro Plant 16 and jump down to get the boat that is in the building under the dam.

Destroy spy cameras or turrets (5)

You can find cameras and turrets in all new locations. Cameras are much easier to destroy and have less XP. and they don't shoot at you!

Eliminate players without using a shield or healing items between eliminations (2)

Team Rumble is the best place to complete this task. You can easily get a couple of exceptions without using a shield or healing yourself!

Find chests in Pleasant Park or Nectar Hollow (10)

Go to Team Rumble to search for chests because you will most likely get the whole area for yourself. Any location will work well for this problem, just go to one that seems less populated.

Destroy enemy structures with proximity mines or guided explosives (20)

This is another good option for a Team Rumble because you can find quite a few mines and place them in the various structures that have been created throughout the round!

Catch Fish with explosives(3)

Look for fishing spots in the waters and throw mines, guided charges or grenades at it and blow them up! This is how you can catch easy fish.

Eliminate players in The Agency or the Careless Shore (5)

You might find it easier to switch to a standard Fortnite game and just play anywhere. You'll be lucky and hopefully the circle will fall into one of these areas. It happens often, but not so consistently.

Find ammo boxes in different named areas (7)

Any location on the map that has a name on it will qualify. Just go to seven different locations and get an ammo box.

Use decoy grenades (5)

Not much, you just need to find some of these grenades and throw them at the first opportunity.

Deal damage to players without leaving the boat (200)

This can be annoying, but you can pull it off in Team Rumble. Just find a boat and head towards the circle and try to hit people with your rockets. You can get killed, but you can always land on the boat and try again.

Scan a Spy in multiple matches (3)

Spies are everywhere, but you can reliably find them and a scanner in new locations: Shark, Yacht, Grotto, Oil Rig, and The Agency. All you have to do is shoot one down, pick it up and scan it at the entrance to the door or near the chest with the scanner to get a bonus for completing the challenge.

Visit Crafty Meadows, Speed Lawn Mowers and Nightmare Cinema (1)

You can find Sly Meadows directly east of Pleasant Park. Speed Lawn Mowers is a race track located north of Fatal Farm and north of the apple orchard above the farm. The Nightmare Cinema is pretty well known to most people, it is located west of Fatal Farm and is a drive-in cinema with a bunch of cars in the parking lot.

Get hold of different boss weapons (3)

You will need to do this in normal game mode because bosses don't spawn in Team Rumble. To make it easier, try to fly to the far location with the boss from the flight path of the bus. Usually you will be able to get the location alone, but you may have to fight someone for it. You will be able to find bosses in all new locations of the second season: Shark, Yacht, Grotto, Oil Rig and Agency.
