Fortnitemares 2020 - Skins, Release Date & All Nightmares Event Info
Now that we've entered October 2020, it's time to start thinking about the spooky things Epic might be adding to Fortnite. These events in the past have always been pretty fun, and introduced some crazy new characters and some fun additions to the map that rocked the world.
In 2018, we saw the addition of zombies to the game, which caused some controversy among many. Next year we got the exciting Storm King LTM where you could join others and take on Storm King boss. If you could succeed, you would have earned yourself a pretty umbrella. Now that we have all sorts of Marvel characters running around the map, it remains to be seen what Epic will bring this year!
Fortnite Nightmares release date (Fortnitemares)
The release date for Fortnitemares 2020 is currently unknown. I was expecting this event to happen closer to Halloween, but we'll likely get a patch this week on October 12th, so this could be a target for some early festivities to kick off. However, in past years, the event started much closer to the 31st, so don't be surprised if the event takes place quite late!
Fortnitemares leaks
We don't know everything yet, but according to HYPEX, it looks like some interesting NPCs will be added to the game during the event. A certain Midas NPC will be added to the game, which will have 100 health and 350 shields. I'm guessing he'll be a "creepy" version of Midas, maybe even the shark-related one. The other NPC is called the Ghostly Ghost Henchman and he will have an assault rifle, a pump action shotgun, an SMG or a pumpkin grenade launcher. It looks like whatever Fortnitemares 2020 is going to be, there will be some new POI, or some creepy NPCs infiltrating old POIs. I can imagine that Midas being the boss of the new area and his ghost spies makes sense, but we'll have to wait and see.
Here's a look at the Phantom Spy animation that can be part of the event:

Fortnitemares skins
We'll likely see more Fortnitemares 2020 skin leaks as we get closer to the start date when this happens. For now, Epic is re-releasing old Fortnitemares skins in the item store, such as the Big Mouth and Teef skins.
However, we do have two relatively new skins that can be seen as part of the spooky season.
The City Center Set is an appropriately spicy pumpkin look that includes a festive orange sweater, hat and jacket. You can also get an orange pickaxe and backpack.
The Victoria Saint skin has also been introduced before and I'm sure we'll see it again. It has a great vampire hunter vibe that pairs with Marvel's Blade, who will debut this season.
