Free Fire: Good Tips For Newbies

Free Fire

Have you started playing Free Fire, completed a couple of matches, but are still having difficulty in some parts of the game? Don't worry - this is completely normal. We've all been beginners at some point, and the only way to become a "master" is to practice as much as possible. You can make this journey easier by following some tips. That's what this guide is about: let us help you become the king of the island by providing helpful tips and tricks about Garena.

Cosmetics Don't Matter, But Characters Decide

Cosmetic items such as T-shirts, pants, and hats are just cosmetics. They do not provide any advantage in terms of gameplay to your character. Yes, they can make your character look cool, but this is not an MMORPG and your competitors won't admire your outfit: they'll just kill you. Since cosmetic items are sold in exchange for diamonds, you can buy in-game currency with real money, and do not provide any real benefits.

Characters, on the other hand, are different. They really do provide an advantage. There are 8 fighters in Free Fire. 2 of them, Adam and Eve, are "unlocked" from the start. However, they do not have any "stats" and do not offer any benefits. They can play heroes freely.

The other six heroes offer the following benefits:

  • Nikita – 4% faster assault rifle reload
  • Misha – 2% faster movement speed
  • Ford – 4% damage reduction while out of safe zone
  • Andrew – 2% less vest stamina loss
  • Kelly - 1% increased sprint speed
  • Olivia – Resurrects other players with +6 more HP

You can unlock these heroes with in-game currencies, diamonds (real money) or dollars. (Though, Misha can only be bought through diamonds.)

Note that these stats keep going up as long as you keep leveling up your character. For example, Andrew starts with 2% less durability loss. You can increase this value up to 10% by leveling up your hero and completing in-game achievements. In this regard, Ford is a great hero for advanced endgame strategy that requires clever use of the safe zone boundaries.

It turns red for a reason

You have probably noticed that your crosshairs turn red from time to time, just for a couple of seconds. Well, there is a reason for this: it means that there is an enemy in front of you, and if you pull the trigger when the crosshair turns red, you will hit it. This applies to both aiming mode (which you activate with a right-click) and normal mode. When your crosshairs start to glow red, pull the trigger - this is a visual cue that you can hit the enemy. This does not guarantee that you will score, for example, a headshot, but it does guarantee that you will damage your opponent. If you're having trouble shooting your enemies, keep an eye out for this visual cue.

Full throttle

Vehicles are perfect for fast travel - whether you're running from a firefight or trying to get to a specific location, use a vehicle. However, vehicles should only be used in the early stages of the game. This is because a moving car is actually a big exclamation mark that tells everyone where you are. In the beginning, while everyone is fighting against each other, your opponents won't even notice the moving target.

However, when there are only a few players left, being in a car will easily attract attention. Here's the perfect tactic: use vehicles at the start to get away from gunfights and let other players kill each other. Once there are only 10 players or less left, stop using them and switch to “more stealthy” gameplay.

Fight is not the solution to all problems

Speaking of meanness, you'll notice that other players don't usually do this, especially right after the game starts. Once you hit the ground, we can almost guarantee that you will be attacked in 10 seconds max. Now you can fight back and turn Free Fire into a glorious deathmatch. However, battle royale games are not about who pulls the trigger faster. It's about staying alive as long as possible and getting ready for the "real" battle at the end of the game.

So, don't attack other players right after you land on the island. If you are attacked, fight back. At this point, only luck determines which player will beat the other, not skill. Your goal should be to stay away from other players for as long as possible and let them kill each other. Sprint towards the building or jump into the car and move away from the conflict. You must collect loot and prepare for the end of the game. It is possible to win the game by only shooting once - you only need to kill one player to become the king of the island if you play your cards right.

Don't Stand Still

Surprisingly, you will notice that most of your opponents remain motionless during the fight. This is because they play for free from their mobile device and this makes it impossible to move and shoot at the same time. There is a way out, use BlueStacks, which allows you to play Free Fire with your mouse and keyboard. This is a much bigger advantage than you might think. Use the keyboard to move during combat and use the mouse to shoot - easy as hell. Mobile players will not be able to hit a moving target: aiming requires serious effort, and therefore they remain stationary.

Dance around your opponents and always be on the move. You will be able to kill them more easily and effectively. If someone starts shooting at you and you can't see the shooter's location, start zigzagging until you find something to use as a trench. If you engage an enemy you see, start circling around him. As long as you don't stand still, mobile players won't be able to seriously damage you.
