GOALS Football Game: Everything You Need to Know
Created by the co-founder of German esports organization SK Gaming, GOALS looks like the next big football game to compete with FIFA and eFootball, so it's good to know about its release date, platforms, and more.
While the football games market is largely dominated by FIFA and eFootball, a new competitor has emerged in the genre, hoping to take over already well-established franchises.
The latest attempt to bring a beautiful game to our screens is the brainchild of SK Gaming co-founder Andreas Torstensson, who hopes to integrate NFTs and free-to-play systems to outperform his competitors.
So, if you're looking to embrace the GOALS style, here's everything you need to know about the new sim, from release date to platforms.
GOALS: Release date
GOALS remains in its infancy and was only announced on July 22nd. So release dates not yet, but as soon as we know something, we will definitely update this section.
GOALS: Platforms
While we have confirmation that crossplay will be implemented for GOALS, we are currently in the dark as to which platforms the game will launch on.
Since the esports scene is also in development, it's safe to say that we'll likely see the title make its way to PC.
GOALS: Trailer and Teaser
Although we haven't had any video trailers yet, in a special Twitter The game has several teasers.
The most intriguing hint we've received so far is the "free play" idea, which can be seen on the little ticket featured in the account's first tweet.
On December 14, the first trailer for the announcement appeared on YouTube. While it did not offer any gameplay hints, it doubled down on the game's mission of being a more user-friendly take on the football game as a whole.
GOALS: Free to Play, Crossplay
One of the most anticipated features of the game is the idea "free game". With both FIFA and eFootball constantly being criticized for their reliance on microtransactions, the idea of a free-to-play game is one that most virtual soccer players will be overjoyed about.
Secondly, this concept crossplay, something else that neither eFootball nor FIFA currently has. Moreover, it also means that the game will be available on multiple platforms.
GOALS will have a market similar to the one found in FIFA Ultimate Team, with the difference that all items will be wholly owned by the player. On the official Online The game states: “Each asset will be wholly owned by the player and can be freely traded on the open market. The choice will be easy when comparing GOALS with other football games: experience the best gameplay and get rewarded for your time. Play and earn.
GOALS: Licensing
One of the biggest questions for football fans is whether the Goals will have any official licensing. Both eFootball and FIFA have agreements to use the branding similarities of real players and teams in their games to varying degrees.
Since Goals is new to the scene and also free to play, having the right teams, players, and logos would be a huge win.
There is currently no word on whether the developers have any agreements to include real-life sports superstars. However, there is still a distinct lack of familiar faces from marketing.
GOALS: Esports
It's not just the free-to-play model that challenges FIFA and eFootball, Goals is also aiming to capture the competitive scene. The announcement trailer described the game as "esports-ready" but unfortunately didn't go into much detail.
That's all we know about GOALS so far! As more information about this FIFA and eFootball competitor is released, we'll be sure to add it to this page!
