The 33rd hero Sojorn is ready to play. The abilities of Sojorn, a former captain of Overwatch, are focused on planning operations, leading a squad and direct combat.
She is suitable for medium-range combat, and her equipment provides excellent mobility and high firepower. Senior Character Designer Josh Noh was responsible for developing Sojorn's abilities, while story designer Miranda Moyer wrote most of her lines. Railgun
Primary Fire Mode: Fast projectiles that store energy on impact. The energy accumulated in this way allows the use of an alternative mode: a powerful shot that absorbs the accumulated charge. “The railgun is where we started with Sojorn,” Noh says. “We wanted to create a mid-range hero that rewards accurate shooting while also being suitable for players of all skill levels and playstyles.” Playing as Sojorn will not be easy: the effectiveness of her weapons is very dependent on the accuracy of the player. Therefore, it has a high entry threshold, and you need to skillfully use an alternative firing mode.
Her personality and character define her fighting style. “Sojorn is extremely attentive and methodical. Therefore, we made it so that you need high accuracy to play as her. Moyer says. “She is a great tactician and will measure ten times before cutting.”
disintegrating shot
An area-of-effect ability that slows enemies and quickly reduces their health. This ability also helps you use the Railgun more efficiently. In earlier versions, this ability dealt significant damage to barriers, but the final version serves as an addition to the alternate fire mode. "Originally, she was supposed to destroy barriers, but later we redesigned her to help Sojorn hit slow enemies with alt-fire."
Keep your eyes on Sojorn: if you've been slowed down by her disintegrating shot, chances are she's already aiming at you. “Sojorn's cybernetic abilities help her reduce the number of variables. Moyer explains. “Slowing down helps aim, increases her chances, and minimizes the chance of error.”
Super slide
"Super Roll" makes Sojorn very mobile. This is a slide that can be canceled at any time with a jump to get high in the air. Proper use of the ability will ensure a quick change of position. “We wanted to add an element of vertical movement so that she can easily take up high positions, because she is a mobile fighter,” says No.
“Sojorn is a cyborg, which makes it easier for her,” explains Moyer. “She has had many surgeries and received many cybernetic enhancements. It began in childhood for medical reasons, then in the army she voluntarily continued to modify her body with cyber implants. It was her personal choice. She did this in order to become an even more effective fighter - the complete opposite of Genji, who received a cybernetic body against his will. Sojorn's body and abilities are a means to an end, nothing more important to her.
Overclock (superpower)
Super automatically replenishes Railgun's energy for a short time and allows its shots to pierce through enemies.
Overclock is another example of an ability that rewards players for high hitting and smart play. By activating his super ability, Sojorn can quickly detonate opponents with empowered shots. “We wanted to create something like Genji's Dragon Blade.
