Genre and gameplay

Diablo Immortal is a 4-10 player raid MMO currently being developed by NetEase. The first game in the series to be released for iOS and Android mobile devices. Blizzard oversees development.

The core gameplay will retain elements of the hack and slash and action genres. The novelty will be the role-playing elements inherent in MMOs - a world divided into zones by player level, dangerous dungeons, farming mobs, collecting legendary trophies, trials and raids.

The health and mana/stamina system will be preserved; numerous potions to improve the characteristics of the character; loot associated with the boss type; dropping things randomly.

Background of the game world

Diablo Immortal takes place in Sanctuary, a fictional world inspired by the Middle Ages. Still a lot of magic and a minimum of technology. Angels and demons walk the mortal Earth, which is inhabited by ordinary people.

It is stated that the game will have a large game world with a variety of play areas - numerous dungeons, islands, plains and forests, villages and cities, tombs and temples, and so on. As usual in the series, locations can be disproportionate - going through the library can take longer than moving between entire regions.

One of the main locations of action will be the city of Westmarch, before it was desecrated by Malthael, and its surroundings.

Plot

It is unknown if Diablo Immortal will have a full story campaign or if the story will be told in cutscenes before the raids. It is announced that the events of the game begin 5 years after the completion of Diablo 2 and will develop over several years. It is planned that Immortal will tie Lord of Destruction and Diablo 3 together.

The struggle between good and evil is for the fragments of the Stone of the Universe. They are filled with great power, which is able to resurrect Diablo. Fragments attract powerful demons, various creatures and defile everything around them with corruption. Players will have to destroy them in order to stop the demonic invasion.

The heroes of previous games in the series, like Tyrael, Malthael, Leah and Deckard Cain, players will not see, instead of them there will be new heroes and NPCs. The main villain will be the boss named Skarn, the most powerful minion of Diablo, who is gathering an army in order to restore the World Stone and resurrect his master.

Classes

At launch, Diablo Immortal will offer six classes, each with three unique abilities:

• barbarian - a powerful and ruthless warrior, easily using his heavy weapons;
• the monk is a martial artist whose swift movements lead to deafening series of blows;
• sorcerer - transforms magical energy into physical embodiment - lightning, ice and flame;
• crusader - a classic tank whose faith allows you to withstand a crowd of enemies;
• demon hunter - a well-aimed killer, armed with a dangerous crossbow and attacking from afar;
• the necromancer is a summoner who deftly manipulates the forces of life and death to set the rebels against the demons.

In the future, the game will receive additional characters.

Multiplayer Game Modes

The exact number of Diablo Immortal modes has not yet been announced. The developers promise players "a lot of tests." The engine will allow you to play with anyone, anywhere.

Like other MMOs, players need to form teams to complete various daily, weekly and monthly activities. In addition to leveling up the character, improving weapons, gear and equipment, it will be possible to create new items and trade.

All items of the character, as before, are divided into levels - from simple to legendary and epic. It will take hours to find the components and blueprints for the best set, and they will only be found in the most dangerous places in Diablo Immortal.
