About the game Pathogenesis: Overcome
The non-random global pandemic of 2023, which turns people into creatures driven only by instincts, caused the collapse of the world order. Many survived, but did all survivors retain the right to be called human? This is a story about survivors on the territory of the Leningrad region of Russia. Their search for their place in a collapsed world, where the main danger to people was not monsters at all.
Pathogenesis: Overcome is a story-driven ActionRPG with hardcore gameplay, elements of survival and tactics in the style of modern dark realism.
Features:
- Planning and tactics are more important than reflexes. Not everything can be solved by shooting and force. Ammo is rare, weighs a lot and runs out quickly. The weapon develops a resource or may even break. You should carefully consider whether it is worth getting involved in a conflict and how it can turn out in the end?
- Using cover and folds in the terrain greatly increases the chance of surviving a firefight. Even one bullet from a pistol is enough to get a mortal wound. Imprudently running out with a weapon at the ready is fraught with a premature end to the life path.
- The dynamic camera and indirect control greatly expand the view and freedom of maneuver without losing control of the character. Think over and set the trajectory of movement and concentrate on the situation around.
- Non-target shooting and a special aiming mode make it possible to inflict selective damage on vulnerable or peeking parts of the enemy's body. Let them just stick out at least a knee or an elbow ... Or you can just try to break through the cover with armor-piercing bullets.
- An extensive arsenal of real models of firearms, explosive weapons and ammunition with the correct characteristics and physically correct ballistics. Military, civilian, sporting weapons from Russian and foreign manufacturers. Almost everything that can be found in reality.
- Mods and tactical kit improve the usability of firearms, but don't get too carried away. Each element of the body kit is an additional mass to the already not light iron.
- Edged weapons and hand-to-hand combat techniques in case of a shortage of ammunition or especially emergency situations. Carry a light and fast knife or a heavier bat? Or maybe a longer gaff is better to keep the monsters at a distance? Get by with a construction ax or look for (... be him!) A real sword? In any case, you will need strength, dexterity and effective possession skills.
- Injuries, bleeding, sickness, hunger, thirst, lack of sleep, fatigue… We'll have to devote some of our time to providing the character with the means to recover. And the character himself will figure out when to use the necessary. All that remains is to solve the issue of arranging the storage and how to drag everything acquired, overwork, good.

The game is under development. In the full version you are waiting for:
- Dramatic variable plot in the harsh realities of Russia in the near future. High tech / low life brought to a tragic absolute.
- Global map of the Leningrad region with separate sandbox locations and non-linear progression of tasks. You can score on everyone around you and move only towards your goal. And you can help those in need and gain not only valuable property as a reward.
- Groupings of survivors united by common goals. There are no good or bad. Each faction has its own politics and survival strategy. The only question is - how much are they willing to neglect the state of others in order to achieve their own goals?
