About Starfield

Starfield is an RPG game set in a sci-fi universe. The production was developed by the Bethesda Game Studios team, whose portfolio includes, among other things, the best-selling The Elder Scrolls, and since 2008 also games under the Fallout brand. At the same time, this is the first studio project in twenty-five years, representing a completely new brand.

Plot

Starfield offers us a vision of a future in which space colonization has become a reality. In 2310, in the so-called Settled Systems (a small part of the Milky Way about 50 light years from the Solar System), a bloody conflict broke out between two factions - the United Colonies and the Free Star Collective. The war ended when an indefinite peace was made, and as a result, this slice of the universe was full of danger.

The game takes place twenty years later. We start the game in the ranks of the Constellation - an organization that explores the Milky Way and reveals its secrets. During the game, we have the opportunity to travel the entire length and breadth of the galaxy, as well as discover the greatest secret of mankind.

Mechanics

В Starfield we can observe what is happening from the point of view of the first (FPP) or third (TPP) person. We start the game creating a character in an extremely vast creator; Among other things, we decide on her appearance, choose a personal pronoun that will determine how other people will refer to her, and determine her past (which translates into her three initial skills). We can also decide to assign specific "features" to it. Although the latter are associated with some weaknesses, they also have their good points. For example, a character who has his own house has his own four corners at the start, but is burdened with the need to pay off a large loan. Next, there's nothing left for us to do except to start an adventure whose enormity might even overwhelm.

The title suggests over a hundred planetary systems with over a thousand globes waiting to be visited. Among the locations located on various globes waiting to be visited, we will find, among others, New Atlantis (a giant metropolis with a huge spaceport), located on the fishing platform of the city of Neon (whose economy is based on a drug called Aurora) or even the high-walled city of Akila . Between individual planets and moons, we move under the control of our spacecraft. On their surfaces we move on foot. In addition to the challenges that move the story forward, many missions and side activities have been prepared for the game. In addition to the two main factions, there are a number of minor factions in the game world, such as the Ecliptic mercenaries, the Crimson Fleet pirates, the cruel outcasts, or the fanatical Wa'ruun family, and their interests often conflict with each other.

The game also has no shortage of combat with opponents; During dynamic encounters with hostile people or aggressive beasts, we use a futuristic arsenal. In addition, skirmishes also occur in space, during interplanetary or interstellar travel. As we progress, we develop a character that allows us to face more and more challenges. In addition, the game has an extensive crafting system that allows you to create new items of equipment or improve existing ones; Thanks to this, we can also improve our space cruiser by selecting components from specific manufacturers or by hiring crew members.
