Here's where players can find the device in Week 1 Season 1 Fortnite Chapter 3
After eighteen hours of waiting, we can finally start playing. Some players are still experiencing numerous issues when trying to log in, including queuing Epic Games services or getting an error that you do not have permission to play Fortnite.
If you are lucky enough to avoid these problems, you will be taken to a short scene where you will find yourself on a small island not far from the coastline, and you have to sneak and sit on a rock next to the Founder and the rest of the crew.
After a short speech, you will be taken to the lobby of the new chapter. As with all seasons and chapters in Fortnite, there are challenges/quests to complete in order to level up the pass and unlock Battle Stars.
One of the Week 1 challenges requires players to "detect a device". Here is the location on the map of chapter 3 season 1 where you can complete the task.
Where to find the device in Fortnite
There are several different device locations that you can find throughout the map. For convenience, we will show you one of the places where you can complete this task.
Head to the edge of the new map, to the Okay Sawmill area. You need a mountain with an AI base and NPC Jonesy on board, like on the map above.
Go inside and you'll find a device on the floor in the building to the left. Here's what it looks like in game:
Assemble the device by interacting with it. As soon as you do this, the voice message will be played. This will most likely be related to the storyline for Chapter 3, but there will likely be other players trying to complete this challenge at the same time as you, so be careful!
