One year after the Day of Appearance, Chairman Richard Prescott delivers the final announcement before the Hammer of Dawn Strike, designed to wipe out the Locust Horde in all major areas outside the Jacinto Plateau.

Sergeant Diaz contacts Chairman Prescott, who reveals that Ukkon is in charge of the various creatures the Locust are using as weapons and must be stopped. He appointed a sergeant. Sergeant Diaz and Major Redburn begin their mission by recruiting their task force, first looking for Echo-Five, who has also been posted to Aldair as a clearing team. Realizing that they weren't ready, Sgt. Diaz moved his squad and the Country to the Wasgar Desert to train them and prepare for the fight against Ukkon. Two weeks later, a few stranded men leave the camp, but are taken prisoner. While rescuing the prisoners, they find an empty canister that Ukkon used to inhale. Mikayla transfers Vasgari to the canister and traces it back to Nedroma Health Institute . They discovered that the Nedrom Health Institute was a quarantine area and research facility for Rustlung, and that the canister, when full, contains an immune booster that only works against Rustlung but has devastating side effects. Realizing that Ukkon was dying from Rustlung and they needed those canisters, they set up a trap using the canister as bait. Upon Ukkon's arrival, they successfully lure him into a trap. However, Ukkon reveals that he knew Major Redburn. Major Redburn then knocks out Sergeant Diaz. Mikayla tries to stop Major Redburn as he plans to take Ukkon alive to Ethera. However, Ukkon manages to escape. Sergeant Diaz and Mikayla then detain Major Redburn on the orders of Chairman Prescott.

After being apprehended, Major Redburn reveals to Sergeant and Mikail that when he was younger, he was placed in the New Hope Research Center in Tyrus, as he was supposed to use genetics to treat Rustlung. However, the lead scientist, Dr. Niles Samson, believed that he could further develop humanity into greater beings and possibly use them to end the Pendulum Wars. He then mutated human children afflicted with Rustlung, turning them into insane feral monsters called Sears. However, one Sire retained his intelligence, Ukkon, and also gained the ability to instantly heal when affected by Impulse. The events were covered by Chairman Monroe. Now the descendants of the Sir are destroying humanity. Major Redburn wanted to revive Ukkon to show people the truth and show that true military instinct will win the war, not corrupt politicians. After recovering the files left by Major Redburn at the outpost in Winlocke , Sergeant Diaz and Mikayla realize that he was telling the truth - that the COG created the Locust. Diaz contacts Chairman Prescott to test his knowledge of A New Hope. Due to the necessary secrecy, Chairman Prescott attempts to kill Diaz and his team with the Hammer of Dawn.

Sergeant Diaz then forgives Major Redburn, now realizing that they are no longer part of the COG. Major Redburn then reveals that he knows how to kill Ukkon. Scientists from New Hope have created an anti-theft system called " Cytostatic gas" , which can stop its healing process when exposed to gas. Major Redburn is able to create it and Mikayla turns it into a grenade. The next step for them is to find Ukkon. While rescuing former locust prisoners, they find a young woman named Reyna Torres who once lived in an abandoned UIR laboratories.with her father, but he was captured by Ukkon and her father was killed. Diaz then rallies all of his recruits to attack Ukkon's lab. Diaz, Major Redburn, Mikayla and Reyna lead the attack on Ukkon. After gassing Ukkona and killing his Hydra, Ukkon finally killed Reyna, avenging her father. Reyna then joins Sgt. Diaz's group, since no longer a COG, is determined to help destroy the Locust. Meanwhile, Reyna admires her amulet, which she took from Ukkon's body, as it belonged to her mother, whom she never knew.
