EA CEO Confirms Apex Legends Mobile Release Date Delay

E-sports

Apex Legends Mobile's release date has been confirmed to have been pushed back after EA CEO Andrew Wilson gave fans an update on the company's QXNUMX financial results.

After the recent launch on Steam and plans to release the game for Nintendo Switch players in the coming months, Respawn is gradually making Apex Legends available to battle royale fans across all platforms.

As mobile games have also been gaining popularity in recent years, Apex developers have confirmed that a mobile port of the game is also in development, however it will be released a little later than originally expected.

When Apex Legends Mobile was first announced, it was originally expected to be a "soft" launch by the end of 2020, but as we enter the final months of the year, EA has shared another update as it arrives.

During second quarter financial report EA CEO Andrew Wilson announced that the mobile version is still in development and is expected to be completed by early 2021.

Wilson revealed that the game will release at some point during fiscal year 2022, which starts on October 1, 2021.

However, the upcoming fiscal year will end in September 2022, giving Apex Legends developers a big window to get the mobile port ready for its eventual release.

It was previously reported that the mobile game will launch on both Apple and Android devices, which could increase the time it takes to develop a mobile version.

While it's unclear what exactly is causing these delays, Apex Legends is a pretty technical game, and with the release of Apex Legends' third map, Olympus, in Season 7, it continues to expand.

While EA and Respawn haven't set a date yet for the mobile game's launch, we now have a better idea of how long it will be before mobile players can try Apex for themselves.
