Prayers - are they needed?

Not needed. Surprised? Still would. Everyone around touts the opportunity to open a new character or cool clothes for him. But Genshin Impact is designed in such a way that all story quests can be completed on standard characters, simply by collecting items from the game world or buying them in the store for farmed in-game currency.

Is there any point in prayers? Of course have. To arm yourself with excellent weapons and crush crowds of enemies in dungeons or use the best spells in boss battles, prayers are needed. You will have to ask the game gods to give you cool loot or Persians from time to time.

To do this, you will need to go to a special menu - you can easily find it in the interface (and you will be sent there first of all during the tutorial). It remains to choose any of the available prayers, spend resources on it and you're done - the loot box will spin, something will fall out.

What prayers are better to open?

Prayers are standard and temporary. Standard is a static option. You must collect some special items called "Fateful Encounters" (the name may differ if you play in a different language or use a third-party crack). These items are purchasable with in-game currency, which will be discussed later.

Temporary prayers are a kind of special offers or promotions. Often they are more profitable than usual and offer something special. Temporary prayers appear in honor of some holiday, in-game event, or to cheer up fans of the game. In short, marketing from which you can draw useful items and heroes. Activating these prayers also requires several Entwined Encounters items.

You will get them, however, with a minimal chance - after all, this is a roulette that should motivate donations, and not give away cool goodies to everyone in a row. 

So what are the best prayers to open? Choose yourself. If you see that in a temporary prayer there is a chance to knock out a desired hero or item that would perfectly complement your collection, choose it. In other cases, take standard prayers. The only thing is that in temporary prayer there are slightly more chances of getting top rewards.

What are the chances of being lucky?

All rewards from prayers are divided by stars - from three to five. That is, from a prayer you will receive at least an item of the third rank, which is not so bad. Don’t really count on the “four” and even more so the “five” - such joys will happen to you very rarely. Even donators complain a lot about the low drop rate of top items and heroes.

What are the chances? Let's start with standard prayers. You have a 94,3% chance of dropping three-star characters or items from them. One percent developers have left awards with four stars. And five-star heroes and items drop only 0,6 percent of the time. Yes, the odds are low. Now you understand how the almost completely free Genshin Impact makes good money by forcing donations over and over again.

With temporary prayers, things are a little better. Three-star rewards in them are given an 85,4 percent chance of falling out. Four-star - 13 percent. A five-star - 1,6 percent. Depending on the subject matter of Timed Prayer and the rewards it contains, you might be able to get some decent mid-high tier content. Yes, and five-star characters from such prayers are knocked out more often.

By the way, the gods of Teyvat, represented by developers, sometimes show pity for those who pray. Those who have not knocked out an item with at least four stars after nine unsuccessful prayers are guaranteed to receive it as a gift. And the poor fellows who have not received a character or equipment with five stars within 89 prayers are presented with a top award. Such "pity" does not look too generous. But at least you will get some satisfaction from the process.
