Quest details

After completing the quest In the mountains, you will open the dungeon Vindagnira Peak. To complete the quest, you need to melt all the frozen fragments, before melting the fragments, you will need to go through several puzzles.

How to melt all the frozen fragments of the quest "In the Mountains"

In order to melt all the fragments in the "In the Mountains" quest in Genshin Impact, you must explore the Dragonridge region in search of Iris. You will then be tasked with melting three ice blocks to get deeper into this snow-covered region, as this will not let strong winds hinder your progress.

In both locations, you need to solve a mini-puzzle, as well as perform a few combat raids, which should not tire you out much. Just remember to keep an eye on the Frostbite status effect so it doesn't cause your character to die.

First Block 

The first place you need to go is marked on the map below:

Before melting the block (strange ice) you need to collect Crimson Quartz crystals. This is how the new mechanics of melting blocks works, which cannot be simply broken.

Find Crimson Agate, collect it and quickly run to drown the block, because the duration of the buff from using this crystal is limited. Under the influence of agate, the block can be removed from your path.

Second Block

The second location is shown on the map above. Getting here will not be a problem. Next to the block is the location of the Crimson Agates that you will need. There is one but. The crystal is protected by a barrier that will need to be disabled. To do this, find 3 statues on which you need to seat the fairies. Now we lead the fairies to their perches.

The last fairy is locked behind a time trial, which is located in the middle of a frozen lake. It needs to be completed.

Puzzle Solution

The solution to the puzzle in part 3 of the quest is simple - you need to repeat after the firefly that flies between five different pillars. This is extremely important as it is the solution to the puzzle. However, to solve this puzzle, you need the Cryo user to freeze the pillars in the order the firefly shows you.

Once the puzzle is solved, nearby monsters will come to life and try to kill you. Destroy these machines, but don't forget to warm up by using Ruin Braziers outside the arena, this way you will ignore the effect of the Frostbite and it won't kill you. After the death of the guards, the ice in the center of this area will break, and you can go further. You need to find four pieces of Crimson Quartz to break the shard in the center. 

At the bottom, you also need to melt the block, the location of all 4 Crimson Quartz on the map below. 

The final part of the quest, Melt all the fragments again

To complete the quest, you need to melt all the parts again, for this you need 3 crimson quartz. The location of all crystals can be found below on the map.
