Genshin Impact includes many regions for players to travel through, but which one will be released next? Find out when Sumeru, Fontaine and Natlan will be playable.

The world of Genshin Impact is home to many unique adventurer regions. From the snow-capped mountains of Dragonspine to the bustling streets of Li Yue, miHoYo is constantly expanding Teyvat with every content update.

Not only do the game's locations offer further exploration opportunities, but they are invariably home to powerful new enemies, domains, and weapons. There are also many primogems and character-leveling materials scattered throughout the various regions.

Current region Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact's current region is Inazuma. This feudal landscape was added as part of the game's 2.0 update, which introduced a number of notable characters to an ever-growing roster. Inazuma is ruled by an Electro Archon, Shogun Raiden.

Inazuma has seen countless bloodshed as rival clans continue to fight both for and against the Edict of Hey to hunt the vision. The landscape of the island nation is also incredibly hostile, and frequent electrical storms can be seen throughout the region.

If that wasn't enough, roaming samurai and Electro-based enemies roam the lands looking for easy prey. Inazuma is a place fraught with both danger and beauty, which is what makes this area so attractive to many travelers.

Next Area Genshin Impact: Sumeru

The next Genshin Impact region to be released is Twilight. This location is known for its vast deserts and ancient forests, which help distinguish it from the current areas of the game.

The inhabitants of Sumeru worship the God of Wisdom, the Archon, who commands the Dendro element. There are currently rumors that Sumeru will be released some time after the 2.5 and 2.6 update, which will add Yae Miko.

The current Genshin Impact leaks also indicate that Sumeru will also include the first dendro character, Yao Yao. Sumeru City was also recently revealed, giving players an early look at how this new POI compares to other locations.
