Half-Life: Alyx Brings Hope to Half-Life 3

Twelve years after the release of the second episode of Half-Life, a light of hope has emerged, indicating that the third installment of Valve's iconic FPS series is still in the pipeline. All thanks to Half-Life: Alyx.
“Oh my God, this is still happening. Everyone stay calm!” And it's not just that there's a new game Half-Life called Alyx , but also in its plot layer. Although from a technical point of view, the new game from the cult FPS series is a prequel to Half-Life 2 and considered a classic spin-off, prior to launch, Valve warned all fans not to play it until the end of the lead roles as Gordon Freeman. Yesterday we finally found out why. Half-life: Alyx not only makes a very strong reference to a story that was interrupted thirteen years ago, but also gives a clear and obvious suggestion that the series can (and probably will) continue, but this time in the form of a full-fledged, third part (which became famous again a few months ago) . In this text, we will explain why we think so, but before moving on to the next part, we loyally warn of significant spoilers in the following paragraphs.

Let's start from the very beginning, from the end of the second episode Half-Life 2 . After defeating the attackers, Gordon Freeman returns to the resistance base, where he collects thanks from his associates and launches a rocket that closes the super-portal to the Combine's world. Unfortunately, as our silent protagonist and Alyx prepare for their mission to find the missing Dr. Judith Mossman, who has received information that could spark a second seven-hour war, the rebel base comes under attack by the enemy. During the battle, Eli, Alix's father, dies.
Everything was clear and remained in limbo until yesterday. the end Half-Life: Alyx which you can see here , turns the ending of the second episode on its head.At the end of her adventure, the protagonist frees the G-Man, who has been imprisoned by the Combine, the most mysterious character in the series. This allows the protagonist to see into the future and provides an opportunity to save her father from death, which she willingly takes advantage of. But this has its price. She was hired by the G-Man as a "replacement" for Gordon Freeman, who turned out to be too... independent of him and his mysterious employers. Roll loans. After watching them, the next scene begins. We have a chance to get into the shoes of Freeman himself. He was awakened by Eli, who had narrowly escaped death a moment earlier, informing him that Alyx had disappeared and the Big Man had taken her. The leader of the resistance then hands Gordon his iconic crowbar and tells him that they have a job to do.
So after more than twelve years we get another massive quest, which, by virtue of the fact that the third episode Half-Life 2 hardly ever will be done , quite obviously sets the stage for a potential full-fledged third installment game .The developers solved the problem almost perfectly. Not only did they get rid of the dead weight of Eli's lack of thread development, an issue that had plagued fans for years, but they also created a great starting point to continue the adventures of Alyx Vance and Gordon Freeman. We can't imagine that this specific fan service wouldn't mark the next installment in the series. The "unforeseen consequences" that we owe to the decision of the girl, sent the entire Half-Life to a completely new track. A track that will hopefully be built.
The question is, will we have to wait another thirteen years to see these "unintended consequences" that are discussed in the series? And will the next major release also focus solely on VR devices? Let's hope we get the answers soon.
Recall that Half-Life: Alyx as of yesterday, only available on PC. Name received very warm reception from the industry media, who almost unanimously recognized it as a new quality when it comes to VR gaming. The title was also liked by the players. On Steam 96% of over 4000 opinions are positive.
