Half-Life: Opposing Force Gets VR Support On Oculus Quest With Lambda1 Mod Update

A few months ago, the Lambda1 Half-Life VR Oculus Quest mod added support for the first expansion of the game, Blue Shift . Developer DrBeef also added support for the next expansion, Opposing Force, this week.
The Lambda1 update adds many new features, including support for Opposing Force. Released in late 1999, Opposing Force was the second expansion not developed by Valve itself, but by independent Gearbox Software, now known for its Borderlands series. Whereas Blue Shift uses the players as a guard at the Black Mesa facility, in this expansion, you put on the skin of a soldier.
In the original Half-Life, the military is sent to Black Mesa to destroy any trace of the alien outbreak, including Gordon Freeman. However, the Opposing Force finds its protagonist alone.

With the addition of Opposing Force, all Half-Life expansions on PC now support VR on Oculus Quest. This was the third and final expansion, although it was a PS2-exclusive co-op campaign. As much as we want to play in VR, we don't expect it to work.
However, now that the entire Quest catalog is stocked, you'll have plenty of opportunity to play the build before the release of Half-Life: Alyx next month. And what can not but rejoice, Valve himself is sure that this will indeed happen next month.
