Honkai Star Rail is a new third-person action-adventure fantasy action RPG from the makers of Genshin Impact. Like in Genshin Impact, in this game you will control a team of four characters. The project is an RPG with a turn-based combat system and strategy elements and is developed on the Unity engine for PC and mobile devices with iOS and Android.

We may not know a release date yet. Honkai Star Rail, but the Honkai Star Rail closed beta has begun - register now to get access to this exciting new JRPG
Attention all Honkai Impact 3rd players, or Hoyoverse fans in general, a new game is on its way. A release date for Honkai Star Rail may not be known at this point, but the title serves as a sequel to Honkai Impact. So it's safe to assume that this is a JRPG, making it the third major Hoyoverse project, after its predecessor and Genshin impact.
Given that Hoyoverse just confirmed the game, it's safe to say that before the Honkai Star Rail release date not much time left. However, this does not mean that we cannot look at beta version of Honkai Star Railfor more information. Hoyoverse officially unveiled the game during the Starfire Sonorant concert held in celebration of the 3rd anniversary of Honkai Impact 3rd.
Honkai Star Rail has turn-based combat and will likely have an open world, and an expansive one at that, if Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact are anything to go by. The latter of which continues to grow, with new areas and characters becoming available with the arrival of fresh Genshin Impact updates.
Honkai Star Rail Release Date Rumors
The short answer is that we don't know a release date yet, although we hope to see one by the end of this year. In the September TGS Hoyoverse Special, we were treated to a lot of gameplay footage, as well as a hint of a new Honkai Star Rail character. You can watch the latest trailer below.
When will the Honkai Star Rail beta test take place?
The first closed beta of Honkai Star Rail was only available to iPhone users, but the second closed beta was delayed back in May 2022 for multiple platforms.
