Walkthrough of the quest Both Here and There

In a conversation with Vikas, a representative of the planning committee for the Academy Festival, Paimon and Traveler/tsa learn about the upcoming event. Vikas explains that the Festival has two parts: the Festival of Wisdom and the Tournament of Darshans. The festival of wisdom is held annually, where six darshans present their scientific schools. The darshan tournament takes place every four years, where representatives of each darshan compete for the title of champion.

Vikas also explains that the current Festival is of great importance to the Academy, as they plan to attract talented scientists from the desert. Vikas invites Paimon and the Traveler/tse to take part in the Festival as guest reviewers, follow the progress of the tournament and keep records. He assures that this is not a difficult task, and rewards will be offered to participants.

Paimon and Traveler are attracted to the offer and agree to take part. Vikas informs them that the main site of the Festival is located near the Citadel of Regzar, and asks them to tell the host Karina about the agreement. Vikas wishes them good luck and promises to help in case of questions or doubts. Paimon and the Traveler are ready to hit the road and join the Festival.

After hearing about the Academy Festival from Vikas, you and Paimon decide to be guest reviewers and head to the main Darshan Tournament venue to hear from the presenter what your work will look like.

On the stage you see a woman named Karina, who greets the guests and talks about the prize pool of the tournament. She mentions generous monetary rewards, research grants, exclusive cards for the Sacred Call of the Seven game, and the ability to wear the Circlet of Knowledge. Karina notes that this is a great honor and privilege.

Paimon notices that it is probably Karina herself, and suggests that they wait to approach her later when she is free. At this time, Alae and Aisha admire the beauty and significance of the Diadem of Knowledge, considering it a work of art and a symbol of high intelligence.

Karina continues to talk about the Diadem, revealing that it was given as a gift to the Academy by a scientist named Sachin twenty years ago. She also mentions the generous reward the winner of the tournament will receive from Sachin. However, she expresses regret that Sachin is not with them today and expresses her gratitude to this scientist before the tournament starts.

Suddenly, you experience a vision in which you hear a voice warning of a world that is heading towards an abyss. The vision makes you feel confused and Paimon is concerned about your condition. However, Karina interrupts your reverie by focusing on the start of the tournament.

She represents the representatives of six darshans: Tignari from the darshan of Amurt, Saino from the darshan of Spantamad, Laila from the darshan of Rtavahist, Faruzan from the darshan of Haravatat, Kaveh from the darshan of Kshahrevar.

However, Karina discovers that the representative of Vahuman's darshan is delayed, and you hear the voice of the wanderer, who suggests that you get down to business and end the meaningless performances. Paimon is puzzled and asks why Master Hat is the representative of Wahumana.

While you are thinking about this, Karina announces the appearance of the last participant in the tournament - Hat Master, representative of Vahumana's darshan. Alae notices that she has seen him somewhere before, and Paimon asks if you know who he is.

Aisha reveals that Master Hat is a foreign scholar who is attributed to Vahuman's darshan. He owns many works devoted to the analysis of modern politics. She also notes that many Vahumanana scientists do not like his communication, but he does not seek friendly relations with colleagues.

Alae adds that while his mannerisms are controversial, his judgments are often accurate. She also suggests that Master Hat was chosen because of the lack of staff in Vahuman's darshan, as the famous scholars of this darshan are away.

Paimon and you are left with no idea about Hat Master's participation in the tournament, as he doesn't look like a typical participant. Karina, on the other hand, continues to prepare for the start of the tournament and asks who will win this time.

Paimon reminds you that you are the guest observers and your task is to find out from the representatives of different darshans why they are participating in the tournament. You decide to greet the members and question them about their motives, with particular interest in the last member, Master Hat, as his presence is somewhat questionable.

You find that the invited reviewers are busy, so you decide to talk to the tournament participants about the reasons for their participation. You meet Tignari, the representative of the darshan of Amurth, and Sayno, the representative of the darshan of Spantamad.

Tignari explains that even though he has already graduated from the Academy, graduates are also eligible to participate in the tournament. He was surprised when he was chosen to represent Amurta, but realized that any scientist who did research at the Academy was eligible to participate.

Saino, on the other hand, put forward his candidacy himself, using the remainder of his vacation. He learned that an exclusive card for the game "Sacred Call of the Seven" would be given out as prizes, and decided to compete for it. At the same time, he notes that this card is special due to its holographic coating, which gives it beauty.

You understand that each participant in the tournament has their own reason for participating, and you decide to continue conversations with other participants to find out their motives.

Paimon meets Kaveh, Faruzan and Layla. Kaveh and Faruzan compete in a tournament, with Layla not knowing why she became a participant. Faruzan invites Laila to join his research group, but Kaveh feels he should not recruit students from other darshans. Faruzan explains that winning the tournament will earn him funding and an opportunity to recruit new students. Kaveh enters the tournament to fulfill his dead father's dream. Laila and Kaveh ask how Faruzan met them, and Faruzan replies that she helped them in their education.

The wanderer known as Master Hat enters into conversation with Paimon and the traveler. Paimon asks why Master Hat chose to participate in the Darshan Tournament, but he refuses to answer, citing a promise not to reveal his motives. Paimon offers to guess his intentions, but Master Hat refuses and says that he wrote articles refuting the conclusions of the scholar Aqaba from Wahumanana, and as a result was invited to lecture. He also complains about being assigned to Wahumana and called "Master Hat". After that, the conversation ends and Master Hat warns the traveler to be on the lookout and enjoy the Tournament of Darshans.

After questioning the tournament participants, Paimon and the traveler notice that Karina, one of the guest reviewers, has cleared herself of the conversation. They approach her and Karina recognizes them as reviewers invited by Vikas. Karina tells them about her duties and gives them camera to record the tournament and special locator, which marks the location of the participants and warns about the completion of tasks. She also reports that two other observers are working at the tournament - al-Haytham and Nilu. Paimon and the traveler spot Daehyu and Kandakia, who also came to the festival, and want to join them, but realize they have a job at the tournament. They decide to approach al-Haytham and find out what is going on with them. Karina says goodbye and wishes them a good time at the festival.

You meet Daehya and Kandakia, who have come to town to shop. Although you would like to walk around the city with them, there is very little time left before the start of the tournament. Then you hear about the first round challenge from Al-Haytham, in which the contestants must catch three swift butterflies and bring them to him. The different participants develop their own strategies for completing the task, including using astrology, developing chemical baits, and searching for butterflies that have already been caught. At the end, you decide to join Saino, who has already begun the search, and then plan to check on how the other members are doing.

The team discovered that Saino had caught a mechanical lure instead of a real fast-moving butterfly. It turned out that Kaveh, an interior designer, created miniature mechanical butterflies to decorate the city. Sayno, mistaking the bait for real ones, began to catch them to help the team catch real butterflies. Faruzan explained that the butterflies will take mechanical baits for their relatives and will follow them. The team decided to investigate the place where the bait came from in order to find real butterflies.

Saino turned out to have caught a mechanical bait instead of a butterfly that Faruzan and Kaveh had made. The plan of Kaveh and Faruzan failed due to the fact that Tignari attracted butterflies with the smell of a special incense, consisting of three types of honey. Tignari explains that butterflies don't have noses, but they do have antennae that help them smell. He says that caring for living beings, including butterflies, requires certain conditions and knowledge. Tignari offers to come to his lecture on the animal world to ask more rational questions. Other tournament participants are busy with their own affairs, and some of them express interest in butterflies and animals. The butterfly bait situation remains unresolved and the participants continue their search.

Lila and Paimon explore the city in search of swift butterflies. Lila notices that there are fewer butterflies, perhaps the other participants in the tournament have found a way to lure them. They notice one swift butterfly, but do not have time to catch it, as it is too fast. They follow Lila using a locator that reveals that another member has found a butterfly. At that time, Laila meets her old friend Kandakia and her sister Dahya. Kandakia gives Laila a swift butterfly and they say goodbye. Paimon and Laila decide to see Laila and her new butterfly off.

At the beginning of the first round, all the swift butterflies were caught. Al-Haytham announces that the first round is over and hopes that the participants will not stop there. Paimon asks who brought the rest of the butterflies, and Nilu says that the first was Tignari, and the second has not yet been decided. Kaveh suggests dividing the points among themselves, but Al-Haytham says there is no such rule. Kaveh suggests adding this rule, but Al-Haytham replies that she can send her suggestions to the tournament organizing committee. Kaveh complains that it will be too late, and Faruzan proposes to decide everything by lot. Nilu takes on the role of drawing lots and Kaveh loses. Faruzan gets two points and Kaveh decides not to agree to the division of points. Paimon announces that the second round will take place in the desert, and the reviewers' stand will be in the village of Aaru. Participants are given free time until the next round. Paimon suggests that they contact the head of the association, Lady Sangema-bai (Dori), who is waiting for them at the north gate of Sumeru City. Then the results of the first round are shown: Tignari has 3 points, Faruzan - 2, Laila - 1, Saino, Kaveh and Master Hat - 0 points each.

Morgiana gave you information about Dory's whereabouts and you went to visit her. After meeting Dori, you learn that she is taking part in the Academy Festival in Sumeru City. She sees the festival as an opportunity to make money and invites you to view her merchandise, including treats. Dory also mentions the upcoming trials at the festival and offers you a power-up supplement. Paimon is interested in food and asks for tahchin, and you notice some suspiciousness around you. Dory says that there is secret information about the festival and offers to discuss it later.
