Halloween is not far off. Across the country, traditions such as going door-to-door wearing masks and begging for candy, cake, fruit and money are being shut down due to COVID-19, forcing many families to find creative and safe ways to enjoy their favorite holiday. iD Tech, a global leader in STEM education for youth, is offering a free online Halloween experience on Roblox, one of the fastest growing game creation platforms on the planet. Virtual tricks and vehicles will go through a series of Halloween favorites such as hay ride, haunted houses, corn maze, costume shop, fortune teller, bounce house, virtual photo ops and more.

Stunt fans aged 7 to 17 can take part in the event, which will run from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November. ID's Game  Halloween Block Party is free and easy to join. "We've created an amazing experience for kids with holiday challenges they'll never forget," said Marissa Kronizer, one of Roblox iD Tech's in-house developers. "Players can virtually visit our Trick or Treat and collect in-game items instead of candy to score points and even get on our leaderboard."

“After watching a lively online discussion with my wife about whether kids should carol this year, we knew this Halloween was going to be a bummer for our little ones. At work, we rallied the iD Tech team and made it our responsibility to keep Halloween alive for our offspring. Roblox has been the perfect home to connect with our community, offering students an entire virtual world to explore in the spirit of Halloween,” said Ricky Bennett, iD Tech VP of Innovation and Partnerships  “We hope our event generates interest in STEM, especially Roblox, which we use to introduce students to coding and game development.”

For over 20 years, iD Tech has been driving innovation in STEM education, and this latest development is no exception. There is no doubt that social distancing has thrown a number of challenges into the realm of education and even into the daily lives of parents as remote schooling and hybrid schedules have changed the way children communicate and their daily lives. Today more than ever, children need well-designed and engaging resources, while parents need resources to support their development and social needs.

Kids deserve Halloween, and parents deserve the peace of mind knowing their kids are safe. This is what prompted iD Tech to create something unique, relevant. Halloween is known as a social holiday with laughter, fun, candy, costumes and a bit of spookiness. To that end, kids can join their online friends to play and compete together, and go on a Roblox quest for a billion virtual candies. An added benefit for parents is that they don't have to worry about cavities or scares.

Since iD Tech announced the event, more than 100 families have responded every hour. With thousands of students already registered for the event, be sure to reserve your seat today to join in on the fun from October 30th to November 1st.
