Genshin Impact Players Are Convinced Dione Is Secretly A Greek Goddess

All of the characters in Genshin Impact have special powers, but some fans have noticed that one Dione's little bartender has a surprisingly similar backstory to a particular Greek goddess, and they're convinced it's her secret origin story.

As for the lands of Teyvat and Genshin Impact, there is no shortage of people with special abilities. Each character already owns a certain type of weapon and the corresponding element, so it's hard to stand out from the crowd.

Being a messenger of the divine can certainly help create some division, and fans are convinced that this is what sets Dione apart as potentially the voice of a Greek goddess.

Dione? Greek god? Some Genshin players are sure about this.

The connection centers around Dione and her resemblance to Dionysus, the god of winemaking from the Greek pantheon.

The most important point is that Dione works as a bartender at the Cat's Tail in Mondstadt, which reflects Dionysus' attitude towards alcohol.

The bond really falls apart after this initial detail, as the young girl is determined to destroy the entire wine industry in Mondstadt despite the bar's success.

One user joked that this revelation would absolutely break Dione's heart: "She has become what she swore to destroy."

Another comment on a Reddit post states that the cryo archer may actually represent a mixture of several deities: “There is the Greek goddess Dione and the Roman goddess Diana. In particular, Diana is the goddess of the hunt, who wields bows; as we know, Dione comes from a family of hunters.”

While the game doesn't make an explicit connection, these coincidences are more than enough for fans to dream about the possibility and wonder what if.
